Melbourne will beat them in Prelim.

(hope so anyway as GF will be very boring if Richmond vs West Coast)

He should never have gotten away with kicking the Western Bulldogs player in the face last year. People were saying he was defending his space (******* what? kicking someone in the head is defending your space)

Try having Epilepsy and watching it. I don't think I could attend this venue. Epilepsy is quite a common condition. GAGF Perth.

Crikey. If they are dumb what are we? We are still set up to play Hawthorn and we can't even beat them now.

Don't think it is .. Happened a few rounds ago and they tried to judge it based on where they think it would have gone had it not hit the ump (via video obviously)

Im pretty sure that it is play on if the ball hits the goal umpire in the field of play and does not go completely over the line.
Actually happened to myself 2 years ago whilst goal umpiring, i was straddling the goal line as the ball was bouncing towards the middle of the goal with a defender in hot pursuit trying to touch it. Amazingly just before the goal line the ball bounced almost at right angles towards me and in an effort to get out the way of it , the ball hit my leg and stayed in the field of play so it was "Play on". Pretty sure it would have gone through for a goal but thats just bad luck. i wasn't a popular person after the match as it was the Captain of my own club that was denied the goal. Oops

It’s an interesting one. I think common sense prevailed though - it was going to hit the post anyway so I think they made the correct call.

Play on off any umpire in the field of play.

However, if the umpire is in contact with the post when it hits him/her, then it is a hit the post, as anything in contact with the post is considered part of the post (including the umpires flags when they hang off the back of the post).

Sheppards year done 8-12 weeks for his hammy. Huge out for the Eagles. Has been so good for a few years now. Hasnt missed a game for 4 years. Would be one of the most underated players in the AFL. Just gets the job done. Hopefully we dont bring spud Nelson in.
