I’m not saying the whole move is correct just that I understand why Collingwood only

Makes Neale a must for Brisbane

You can't count 11 and Polec both on the outs. As 11 came in for Polec.

Didn't we also give up 48 to North?

Also 10 was always ours, so you can't count that.

So by my count we've done the following:
In: 6,F3rd(45ish),F4th(65ish) = 2,188pts
Out: 23, 30, 48,49, Polec, Pittard = 2,033pts + 2 players.

So net we've had in: 155pts (equivalent of Pick 60), for Out: Polec and Pittard, plus we are still paying 200k of Pittard for the next two years.

When you add in the fact that this years draft is 'stronger' than next, and we've pushed current picks out for future ins, in reality it is even worse than the above.

We have had an absolutely shocking start to this year's trade period.

Doesn't just want to return to Melbourne but back to Collingwood, acting like a spoilt brat who has always got what he wants, hope Brisbane play hardball on this one.

Just for something different I disagree

Collingwood was excellent in letting him go to Brisbane because his dad was sick/dying. Now there is another personal issue back in Melbourne and needs to come back he feels he owes Collingwood. I get that

But Brisbane owe Collingwood nothing.

So if Carlton offer Brisbane more than Collingwood is he going to knock it back?

If his personal issues were real, he would go anywhere.

You just can’t tell a player he is going to a certain team, he has to agree

Players should be traded wherever the club can get the best deal (in contract or not). Too much power for players.

I sort of agree but if your boss said today ‘pack your bags your now moving to Beaudesert” you’d be happy?

Depends on the situation.

If the player is out of contract and expresses desire to move to a certain club, power should rest with that player.

If the player is contracted and expresses desire to move to a certain club, then the club should have the right to facilitate the best deal, suitable for both club and player. Lets use McGovern as an example - wants out of the Crows and back to Melbourne. Contracted player - Carlton offer #13 and McAdam, St. Kilda come to the party with a better offer. The AFC should reserve the right to facilitate a trade that gets McGovern to his city of preference, but the best market value offered for that player.

No, but i dont have to work in that industry. That's my choice. Funny how 17 years get no choice but blokes in their mid 20s get to nominate where they want to go.

Agree, but Brisbane need to work out how bad he wants to get to Melbourne for personal reasons. If it is that critical he will accept he needs to be open to all clubs in Melb

Collingwood will obviously be willing to send back the same value they received from Brisbane when he first left?
Picks 5 and 25 wasn't it?
They can probably keep Crisp though give Beams is a little older now.

Collingwood played hardball though from memory it cost Brisbane Crisp plus picks #5 and #25 - One of which became Jordan De Goey. Brisbane must play similar hardball.

Sydney to get involved with the Pies and Brisbane to swap Beams and Langdon.

If Neale leaves Freo for Brisbane, what's their likely compo pick?

Port and Adel might make major plays to get up pecking order and still both miss their man.
