I think we will get Burton in the deal but FFS, medicals are being done on Lovell & O'Brien as well. Hopefully Amon is part of this deal as well

Having just read that post from Big Footy on the Port thread, this will drag out until the last hour of trade week and you will accept pick 15 solely if we havent already used it on Scully. Hawks hold all tyhe aces here. Now if Chad can just come to the party with a few more cryptic tweets it could happen earlier ;)

He will dominate next year, will have a point to prove mentality all year. It's the years after that will be a great challenge for Clarko I agree

Don't get why Pruess would go to another club where is going to be a back up ruckman unless they are going to try & play him or Gawn up forward more? Possibly if Hogan goes they see this as their option going forward..

Strange on 2 fronts.

We have no obvious back up if Goldy gets injured and Preuss goes from being second fiddle to a 30 yr old to being second fiddle to a 26 yr old.

Goodwin has mentioned several times that he plans to play both

Sounds like Neale’s manager is turning the screws on a Freo. Apparently has told the club he has played his last game there

Jeremy Howe was recruited to Collingwood as a forward and you could probably count on 1 hand the number of games he's lined up there. Plans don't always come to fruition.

What if him and McDonald don't work in the forward line? Hogan doesn't get his trade? Not sure you can have McDonald, Hogan and Preuss/Gawn in the same forward line. Then he'll be waiting even longer to get that 1st ruck position when Goldy might only have a year or two at most left in him.

Seems a very strange move. The bloke has been busting for an opportunity and if not for a bit of form mid-year from Goldy probably would have been leading your rucks this year.

Regardless of any of that, Preuss wants out of Arden Street. I reckon the Hogan deal will get done and there is nothing wrong with having 3 talls in your forward line. WCE just won a flag with Kennedy, Darling and Vardy playing forward.

HAWTHORN supporters are up in arms after the club reportedly elected to put star Ryan Burton up for trade, in order to secure Port Adelaide gun forward Chad Wingard.

The Power confirmed on Thursday, Wingard was seeking a trade to Hawthorn, with reports emerging Port had inquired about Burton — with the Hawks prepared to include the 21-year-old in the deal.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one member declaring he wouldn’t be renewing his membership if Burton was to leave the club. Meanwhile, over 200 people had signed a petition “Stop Hawthorn trading Ryan Burton and pick 15 for Chad Wingard”.

A Facebook event ‘KEEP RYAN HOME’ has also been created, with the organiser seeking to protest outside Marvel Stadium during trade period and make a statement to the club that they do not want to trade the runner-up in the 2017 Rising Star.

If Goldy stands up for another 2-3 years then it is a good deal, we get an automatic best 22 player who improves our mids for a player who isn't likely to get a game.

But we cannot go into the season without a decent backup, Port showed that this year.
