Adds more weight to the argument that Free Agency only helps the good sides get stronger.

Pretty sure I saw a stat recently that showed more FA’s have actually left a higher placed team to go to a lower placed team

Exactly JIm, alot of people are simpletons and dont understand the difference between free agency and a trade, they cant see through their salty tears. Frawley the only free agent the Hawks have picked up. Franklin and Suckling went the other way.

That stat was for FA's. Doesn't include RFA's and contracted players that have forced their way out to a better club eg. Gunston.

Stat is heavily promoted by player managers who love the new world as the biggest beneficiaries.

The sooner the AFL adopt the complete FA process the better. Players have 100% of the power.

It's not "official" yet but media have gone with it as official.

When Kane and Blighty were talking about it last night, this is how it went down...

Blighty: "Kane is that official?"
Kane: "Not from Richmond or Lynch, but 'The Age' ran with it today so as far as I'm concerned it's fact"

Surprise surprise that good players from bottom teams want some success.

Interesting to see if this pushes out a few players this year or next? 2 players on a million $ would have to put pressure on anyone's cap.

So do Gold Coast match Richmonds offer given he's a RFA?

If not, they get compensation pick (who knows maybe leave too one day)
If yes, force a trade, would they be better off getting 2 richmond fringe players plus pick(s).

I'd be trading May too and load up on picks and young players. Get everyone on board its going to be a tough few years and then come out the other side with talent to burn, ie what GWS did.

You'd have to convince two Richmond players to go there first.
