Be really interesting to see live how Geelong and the Pies deal with 6-6-6

One thing that was really clear last night was Carlton start the 2 wingman as far back as possible then drop back in the the defensive 50 but on the contrary, Richmond started with 6 defenders then as soon as the bounce was done 1 defender (Normally Houli) sprints in to the centre square for the out the back option.

Coaches will certainly have plans to counteract the 6-6-6 but I reckon you need to see the game live to get a full understanding.

Was thinking the exact same thing today... On a positive it seems to promote defensive footy. Hope that helps us

In the C7 promo for Friday night's Sydney v Adelaide game it mentions "the stars come out to play" and they show a clip of "Buddy", "Eddie" and "Tex", I thought is "Tex" really a "star" alongside Franklin and Betts?

So, for comparison I thought I'd compare the much maligned Jack Watts career stats to those of Taylor Walker, and they make for interesting reading, certainly closer than I would have guessed :

Walker had played 168 games, Watts 173.

Walker is 193cm, 102kg, Watts 195cm, 90kg, they are "similar" builds, play "similar" roles (albeit Walker has probably spent more time as a deep forward than Watts) so I don't think it's unreasonable to compare the two.

(I'll round up or down)
Average disposals per game :
Walker 13
Watts 16
Average marks per game :
Walker 6
Watts 5
Average goals per game :
Walker 2 ( Just over 2 )
Watts 1 ( Just under 1 )
Average tackles per game :
Walker 2
Watts 2

I thought they were interesting anyway.

The modern game certainly is less defined than in the past but there's no doubt the two of them have spent the majority of their careers in the forward half, mostly playing high half forward (CHF if you like) roles.

The Gawn / Talia reference isn't pertinent, IMO.
