Could Port already have a 'undisclosed' last minute deal to be announced making the Howard trade make sense.

Nup, going to the draft with 12,18,29 and 4 in the 60's with Father Son Jackson Mead at the top of the list along with some other locals.

A bit column A, a bit of column B, either that or they have a couple of kids they have their eyes on that they think will go under the radar in the draft and think they can snare both.

If there's one thing Port have done alright in recent times, it's identifying decent kids, we've wasted a few drafts on older heads though which has limited how many kids we have picked up.

I know what your answer will be (great pick up) but is Mead any good or just a “name” like Ben Jarman was? What’s happened to Jarman and Edwards too?

Whats your thoughts on the draft period then Booney?

For mine 4 picks in the 60's is as useful as a tits on a bull.

We will never know but i wonder if they would have tried to snare a sneaky using a few of them, a bit like the Hawthorn Patton deal.

Anything post pick 40 odd in most cases now gets held onto as steak knives in deals or points for father/son or academy picks. That's all they're really worth now.

Not many sides go to a draft with 8 or 9 picks and use them all.
