They were leaders years ago and clubs copied and adopted their model.

I’m not saying Ports programme is terrible, I just think from what I know that other clubs have progressed further.

I think Williams had a lot more say than what Hinkley does and also Williams had a better relationship with the indigneous players than what Hinkley does.

Port were streets ahead of the rest a few years ago, so of course clubs have made more "significant" progress over recent years to CATCH UP ;)

Ports engagement extends beyond clinics and school based programs as well, and it's little things that go a long way - welcome to country, boomerang gift for visiting clubs, engaging in various groups and backgrounds, promoting and respecting Aboriginal culture as a whole.

As for the Hinkley/Williams relationship point, that's a completely different argument altogether and in no way whatsoever should reflect on what they're doing in other areas... Williams is certainly a more relationship based operator - he was a school teacher wasn't he? Educating and building those relationships is second nature to him.. Hinkley I'm not so sure.

Finally we agree on something! ;)

The Hinkley comment is relevant though as the leader of the club his relationship with the indigenous players does reflect on the program.

I'm amazed how you've got such a handle on the relationships Williams had with Marlon Motlop, Daniel Motlop and Alipate Carlile 8 years ago as well as Hinkleys relationship with Ryder, Amon, Neade, Wingard*, Motlop, Powell-Pepper, Johnson, Barry and Thomas*.

Anyone would think you're just making shit up. Not me. I believe you.

You know otherwise do you?

Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

If you think all’s well at Alberton then good for you.

Wingards a very good player but he’s not a leader.
Leadership’s not for everyone.

He knows as much as you. Only difference he isn’t obsessed with defending PAFC I guess

maybe so, but I think it had more to do with the leadership didn't want Wingard in the team.....
