Where does he sit with all this?
Hawthorn does have history in this behaviour and Kennett still has a large collection of Golliwogs that he is proud of

If he wasn't mentioned, perhaps he wasn't involved??

The ABC article was a tough read.

As with everything we need to hear the responses, but today is the first time I've felt embarrassed to be a Hawk member. Genuine disbelief this could happen in these times.

Time for an independent investigation committee to go through every AFL club and complete a thorough investigation I reckon, can't change what has happened in the past but can acknowledge, learn and get better.

Also why I'm guessing back when this happened there wasn't an indigenous welfare officer at the club, there would have been a player welfare officer, what was their role in this? This is exactly where they needed to earn their keep.

Its also sad that AFL clubs have so much 'power' for lack of a better term over young footballers that the players weren't able to bring this to attention at that point in time.

Have to feel big time for the young players......they would have known the treatment probably wasn't right or fair but would have also known doing anything about it would have meant AFL dream over.

How far back do you go?

Yep I've cringed a few times today hearing the reports on the radio.

Disturbing stuff that's for sure.

Was likely never going to be released.
Shocked to be sitting here.

AFL now appointing a panel including a KC to go over it and hasn’t ruled out standing down those involved

Fagan coaching in a Prelim Jimbo.

First time I've ever felt sorry for Hawk fans. Feel for Roos fans as well, just when it looks like they've finally got a break Clarko is on the nose. Not a good look for footy all over tbh.

That did not end well for the coaches and their clubs and even the clubs that they had gone to (Adelaide)

If the allegations are validated you cant see Fagan or Clarkson coaching in 2023 or if you believe Mark Robinson ever again
If these allegations are true towards Fagan and Clarkson, then yes I fully agree with you both won't ever coach again.

Bloody hell there was a bit in that ABC article.

Clarko has released a statement and interestingly has advised he has not been interviewed as part of the investigation, WTF? Surely you get both sides of the story to be able to come to some conclusions?

Burgoyne saying he had no knowledge.
Buddy,Cyril and Hill leaving makes me wonder though.

I've always known the afl or any elite sport can get very murky.
Winning is everything. Look at Essendons peptide saga as an example if win at all cost.

If any of this is true clarko and fagan are history.

Im actually feeling for the Hawks fans.
Went through it with the collingwood report and that was bad enough.
But this is next level.

This is the key to the story. They clearly haven’t and the AFL and clubs are now in damage control. The AFL and Hawthorn have known about this for 2 weeks or longer. Who was hanging on and not hoping it would become public. Frankly I’m over the racist issues, when are we going to learn FFS.

‘IF’ the AFL investigation independent tribunal finds Clarko has a case to answer he’s a gonner. Personally Fagan standing down makes me wonder, does he feel guilt. I just hope ‘IF’ it’s all true the players and their families get looked after for well past my life expectancy.

No doubt he would've said "no comment" or refused to comment or refused to return a call anyway, so I see no issue with this.

They were running an investigation into the club during his time as the Head Coach, wouldn't you be talking him about this?

It wasn't really an investigation. Hawthorn were conducting welfare checks on all of its Indigenous players in response the what came out of Collingwood's Do Better report. So, the initial part of the process doesn't involve getting both sides of the story. That will come.
