2019 Ladder Predictions

Talk on the national game

Re: 2019 Ladder Predictions

Big game for Port and Brisbane this week.

Ports win over Melbourne doesn't look as good after Geelong pumped them ( although Geelong beat Collingwood and are strong at home ) and the win over Carlton wasn't particularly convincing.

Brisbanes win over an under done West Coast was impressive, although West Coast were 6 goals to 1 up, the win over North they were down 7 goals to 4 at one stage.

Whoever takes the choccies on Saturday night goes 3-0 and gives themselves a shot at the top 8.

I've enjoyed watching the Lions development/progression last season and thus far in 2019, but I still think their W/L is likely to balance out a bit.

You're right about the Bombers - Can see them making the same mistake as last season by starting slowly, playing catchup but falling short. If that happens it's unforgivable really.

Richmond as what we have seen over the past couple of years have been great, the 50/50 games when we tip ahead, you give them, their draw now looks a hell of a lot harder with no Rance, no Jack, no Houli for at least another round and I think their dream run of injuries may come to an end, I guess Lynch being the missing piece to the puzzle may have some unforseen bad luck.

As a Dusty fan I think he's not going to have a dominant season, he announced he was suffering depression the whole of last season, I'm sure there is still some stuff going on that's out of his control, I hope he finds his form again but he seems to be going through the motions, my guess is that he will take a few weeks off around the bye rounds.

Brisbane on the other hand, they had a friendly draw the first time I looked at it, I previously had them 12th, two unexpected wins so far this season has propped them up nicely and many of their 50/50's I have changed to their advantage, I think Port are up against it big time this week, we struggled against them at home last season when we were flying.

I'd go one step further looking at the draw and would suggest the winner has big dibs on a top 4 finish.

I still like Port to get over Brissy this weekend, but my tipping would suggest that's great news for the Lions

Port have beaten up on them a coupla times recently at the Gabba, albeit at least once that included a dominant Dixon, and the Lions weren't as good as they appear to be now. Think Ryder might have a decent game this weekend.

One I was wrong on - I thought Gold Coast would go winless this season, maybe gave them a 50:50 chance against Carlton.
But they are one point off being 3-0  albeit, probably not against the same quality opposition as Brisbane have played.

Yeah, I've revised my expectations of Gold Coast up to poop.

It's hard to make anything of it, a win in Melbourne against the Dogs is worth some merit.

They never really looked like losing it either, until the last few minutes as they got jittery before closing the deal. Their defence has improved immensely.

Gee Bulldogs have it tough for the last few rounds, they really need to pinch a win against a more fancied team on the road, that will set them up for a mini final in round 23 as they play the Cows (possibly for the last spot in the 8).

How does Richmond get to play their remaining 7 rounds at the G?

Luck of the draw for Richmond. 5 home games plus 2 away games against MCG tenants

Looking at North’s draw and think they could sneak into the 8 especially if they beat us as they should this week

I have a feeling Richmond had something similar at the end of last year?

"Luck" my hairy white arse.

I normally don’t stand up for them but
so far they have played 6 home and 8 away so they are entitled to play some more home games surely?
Sure it could have been programmed better but all teams have their quirks of the draw
