Not about his faith beliefs but because there clear evidence in this that he is being treated more favorably than others !!!!

a) That's great as he plays better when booed, I thank opposition supporters in advance if they do this as it will mean Geelong have a better chance of doing better in 2019.
b) Using the same philosophy will opposition supporters cheer Tom Hawkins because there has been clear evidence he has been treated less favourably than others? Or will they be mindless hypocrites?
c) If there is any reason to boo Ablett it IS about his beliefs! What a fruit loop if he believes in sky fairies!

Precedent has been set. Last 4 players that shook the goal post before Rampe have been fined and no free kick was given.

Surely you're pullin the pud.
What a ******* joke of a competition if an innocuous comment without any swearing gets a $10k fine but Ablett and Fyfe get off (I know, probably handled by different depts in the AFL, but still AFL decisions).

$10k.....pullease!
He wasn't denigrating girls or the umpire. Just saying his voice was quiet and he couldn't hear it.
Rampe did have a weird game. Did he get a knock to the head early,?

Was the umpire who didn’t call the free against the swans been sanctioned aswell as Rampe? Silly question I know but according to gils comments after the incident he gave it the all ok but then still fined him for it, so if we are going on that the umpire must have been fined as well??

It was just a $600 fine for Fletcher wasn't it ... no suspension.

It's like the AFL have admitted the umpire got it wrong.....

SYDNEY co-captain Dane Rampe has been fined for his controversial comments towards umpire Jacob Mollison during Friday night's narrow win over Essendon.

Rampe has been fined $10,000 by the AFL after telling Mollison he "talks like a little girl", having conceded a holding the ball free kick during the second quarter.

The AFL confirmed that $5000 of that fine will be suspended for the entirety of his career.

Rampe has also been hit with a fully suspended $1000 fine from the League for scaling the goalpost while Essendon's David Myers took a kick for goal after the siren to win the game.

So let me get this right. He scales the goalpost, the AFL tick it off and he gets a $1000 fine? How is that possible??

I wonder what the goal post fine was called, bringing the game into disrepute would be the only thing I could think of, either way it is pure snot, I would hope the umpire received the same or worse.

At the end of the day, it was cited by the umpire, it wasn't acted upon according to the rules, end of story.

The afl ticked off the umpires treatment of the situation (ie: telling him to get down). They never ticked off on Rampe getting on the post. Big difference.

Reading it more thoroughly, his fine is "suspended", so basically as long he isn't stupid enough to climb the post again in his career he'll be fine.

So the umps can offer a warning (if they feel like it) for climbing and shaking a goalpost or a 6/6/6 infringement, but not for things like 5 in the square at a Centre bounce or an interchange transgression. Rightio, got it :?
