Who was it?

Hang on! Is this a still salty jibe at the umpiring?

I thought this was some of my best work [emoji38]
Yeah it was, I thought you were at the top of your game. All down hill from here though.

Why Mackay and Douglas still get games has got me baffled, been around for 10 + years and always go missing when the going gets tough.
Pretenders and both are fair weather footballers, chuck on top of that they are both as slow as F++k now.
Surely there are others in the squad hungrier to play than those two.

I was going to say some "big" calls for Adelaide to make, but they aren't really.

Douglas and Mackay have to go out, Jenkins clearly wasn't match fit ( even we learnt that you need a run in the SANFL after a month off ), Murphy doesn't get enough of it.

Betts though, 19 touches, no goals and 5 tackles in two games against Geelong and Port, if he's not kicking a goal of the year contender late he's doing nothing.

Agree on all, not just for this year but onwards (except Jenkins).
I think this year they were hoping for a tilt at the flag but what is clearly evident all year, even in the wins is we are that far from it it's not funny (or it is funny...depending on your viewpoint).

Agreed, Jenkins is part of the side going forward, Mackay, Douglas and Betts' aren't.

Do they make a tough call on Betts at the end of the year, or do you think he might see the writing on the wall?

I hope he walks. Deserves it and would help the club out by doing it.

I think he'll be humble enough to know what's best for him and the club.

Douglas and Otten both out of contract look like easy calls.

That's a pretty big pay packet that he'd be saying goodbye to, if he's still contracted he may aswell have one more year getting the big bucks, you're a long time retired and there's not a lot of loyalty in AFL anymore, you're yesterday's hero pretty quickly.

Walks straight into a role in their football program, somewhere, be it community based, as a leader for the clubs indigenous players, media/speaker work, pretty sure he's popular enough to get work anywhere, anytime. He's contracted but in the last year of a deal that you would think wouldn't be back ended.

My Crow loving mate just loves Hartigan.

Interesting call on the other two, if they don't think there's a flag in the next 3 years is Smith trade bait? I doubt Seedsman is.

Be on at least $600K I'd imagine, isn't gonna be collecting anywhere near that doing something else at a guess.

I do agree with the said roles you suggested, I've seen him go to footy clubs with a few other crows, he is certainly loved by all.

A 33 year old in the last year of a 4 year deal wouldn't be on $600k, not even Betts at Adelaide.

Smith?

Avg 22 a game at 73% and progressively improved these numbers year on year. He's going nowhere.

Yeah surely it would have been heavily front loaded... prob still 200-300 next year though and again, would he earn that in any other role and playing country footy somewhere? I Doubt it...

As carey said the other day, we're just nuffies with no idea what goes on in club land and for all I know his deal is back ended and he's on $1m next year.

Either way they ( he and the club ) would work out how much of his deal he gets if he walks and how much he leaves behind.

Wouldn't think he'd go anywhere unless it's trade based, but he's not much of a defender and if he's not carving the opposition up by foot, not sure what he brings to the Crows table?
