I think Betts to Carlton would be unlikely now with Papley there.

Perhaps, but the likes of Papley and Martin would all have an eye on some midfield minutes over their careers and perhaps Betts playing 15 games with a mentor role might suit the Blues?

We'll find out if it's Carlton wanting Betts or Betts not wanting to be at Adelaide though, either way.

Sad to say but Gaz is cooked. I'd be amazed if he retired. He just had to be shoved IMO. Ablett will still play some brilliant football for the Cats next season but come September the tank will be well and truly empty as it was this season. If Gaz does play on, we can't play him every week like we did this season. He needs to be nursed through the year Luke Hodge like so that he has something in the tank when the finals come around. We can't field a team of slow, knackered veterans and expect to beat the likes of GWS and Richmond.

In other Cat news Scott Selwood has been delisted. Scotty gave his all but injuries got the better of him, particularly this season. It was a good idea to get him to the club and we tried to develop him as a run with player but his body never really allowed him to show his best football often enough. You could probably say the same for his days at West Coast. I think Gaz should go and Taylor should walk away also. Yoof Catters Yoof!

regards,

REB

Player management, he strung a couple of BOG's mid season for memory, polling 3 votes ahead of the talent pool that Geelong has is quite something IMO, I'd sooner him still be out there.

May as well. We'll be up there again next year don't you worry about that. That's what good teams do.

You're right, you will probably be around the mark again and again be no genuine threat to the teams with pace to move the ball and pressure the opposition in big games.

Jenkins won't be there next year. Himmelberg and Fog can't offer the 2nd ruck option that JJ did. Tex is on his last legs. If we get him cheap enough I don't mind it but think North or Freo would be his better options for opportunity.

Jenkins barely spent time in the ruck and Himmelberg looks a better option than Frampton in that role.

I can only assume he thinks he can get a game ahead of Himmelberg and Fogarty easier than ahead of Westhoff and Marshall?

3 goals off playing in a GF and touched up a fellow contender in West Coast when it mattered. Throw in Hawkins in that Prelim and we probably win the GF this year. No genuine threat lol.

And without Kelly you lose the Prelim by 10 goals and probably don’t get past West Coast

I’m not sure why we’d go after him. He’s not getting s game before Goldy, Brown, Larkey or Daw when he returns. We also renewed Tom Campbell’s contract for 2 more years as insurance...

Absolutely, the kids you've got coming through like Dangerfield, Selwood, Taylor, Ablett, Hawkins, they'll be even better with another year under their belts and the way your coach devises game plans to beat the best sides I can't see why you aren't premiership favorites.

Line ball for mine. Last year when all the nuffies were calling for him to get picked he'd kicked 8 goals in 16 SANFL games, hardly knocking the door down.
