Watched the second half. Melbourne too strong in the last. Adelaide seemed to persist with the new players, Foot skills very ordinary by Adelaide at times and even worse tackling by serial culprits Kelly and Aitkins.

Melbourne a few players looked very good early, Pettraca had nearly 40 disposals and Brad Crouch will get a holiday for a stupid bump.

North Melbourne great David King wants Match Review Officer Michael Christian to make a statement with Kangaroos defender Marley Williams.
Williams will come under scrutiny after a high bump on Ed Richards left the young Bulldog with a concussion and trip to the hospital.

Christian will make a decision on Williams on Monday, with Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch also set to be looked at after a late bump on Melbourne star Clayton Oliver.

“I think it is about changing behaviour,” King said on Fox Footy.

“We’ve had this crackdown for two or three years now on protecting the head; it’s not working.

“I think we’re going to learn a lot on where Chrisso sits with this. I mean if it’s a one or a two-week suspension, is that really going to change behaviour?

“I think there’s an opportunity here at the start of 2020 to say this has to be outlawed from our game.

“If you’re going to change behaviour, it has to be four or five weeks.

Concussion continues to be a major area of concern in the AFL.

Former No. 1 pick Paddy McCartin has been forced to step away from football in an attempt to reignite his career following a series of concussions, while Western Bulldogs premiership hero Liam Picken and former Saint and Bulldog Koby Stevens have both retired due to concussion in recent years.

I hope the AFL are prepared to wait for the fine to be paid, it will be a slow, looping cheque that will be just behind where they want it to be.

If you like doco's that go inside a footy club the Melbourne's to Hell and Back series on their pre-season is excellent, in particular the latest one. Worth watching.
