Check the PAFC thread out, he's trying his hand at comedy.

Better than being my normal self, a grumpy old crowd counting bastard imho.

Hard to come back from when you're nearing 40.

Bring out the tarps!

Seriously though why don't the play the next few rounds at regional grounds instead of the MCG. For us 'watchers' it would make it better viewing than seeing it at a vacant MCG. What I didn't realise was the crowd makes the atmosphere (for TV). This next few weeks is going to be very interesting viewing.

Announce no crowds today to prepare everyone gently.
Next Monday or Tuesday they will pull the pin on starting the season anytime soon
Totally ridiculous. Just close our borders FFS. Inconvienence 0.1% of the population that want to fly and let the rest of us get on with our lives.

There will be no footy next week. Make that 5 weeks

AFL will go ahead without crowds until there is a case in a club. Then the comp will be suspended because an entire club will be in lockdown and can’t play, therefore be an unfair advantage/disadvantage. Any league this happens to will fall under the same banner. That’s why the NBA did it.

Are you deaf, Rd 1 without crowds.

I like to pull out out nose hairs just before entering premises and sneeze like a mother ****.

Exactly but I don’t get why they wait to the inevitable case happens, just suspend it to start with

Will they suspend the season in July when the “normal” flu season hits?

It might make Others grumpy ports crowds are dropping. But not myself I thinks it was always going to happen.

I do apologise I was so accurate with my prediction if that upsets you.

A round 2 showdown to an empty stadium looking likely. Interesting days ahead

No crowd at a showdown will probably still have more atmosphere than a normal showdown.

Why not send all teams to Melbourne, and play a game at Marvel every night for the foreseeable future, and put it on FTA TV. It no longer matters where or when the games are played until crowds are allowed back in.

At least keep the TV networks and sponsors happy, who pay the majority of the bills.

Whilst I agree I hardly think Foxtel would have such a lose contract that would allow that with the money they have paid.

This proposal would work short term only, if it was to be long term you may as well call it VFL and have a 10 team comp for the year. This only benefits the Victorian clubs with twice the travel for interstate clubs.

Would there be much of an advantage if games were in an empty stadium

Surely the crowd play somewhat of a part in the ‘home ground’ advantage.
