How does he end up with the job at the Crows then? Surely they would have contacted people at the SANFL and at the Clubs to find out what he is like? After the mistake of giving Burton the job in the first place the Crows can't really afford to get this one wrong again...

Firstly, some parkland development doesn't really bother me, redeveloping an already existing site really should cause no issues with anyone, even the tree huggers. I do however think the federal government pitching in $15m is a bridge too far. If Crowcorp.com.au* want to develop it, let them foot the bill.

Footnote - played cricket on one of the ovals on the southern side of the aquatic centre years and years and year ago, against Rose Park's lower grades, The ground was so dry and had cracked that badly that you would put a cricket ball in the cracks.
