Crows lose to an interstate team and the borders close 24 hours late... Coincidence???

But did they have a choir awaiting the Swans at the airport this time?

If he was a horse they’d shoot him.

Confirmed break in foot. 16 weeks approx.

No luck what so ever.

If they don't play this year, will that impact some players future? Will players be forced into retirement early?

Would think that is a real possibility.
I still think we will see an abbreviated season with a GF in late October or possibly November

Pendles won't break Buck's captaincy record.

There's several clubs, most importantly to me, my club, that might not make it through this. There's a very real possibility some clubs will go under. Very real.

Doubt it Boon, the AFL won’t let any clubs go under but there will be some massive changes changes going forward and tightening of the purse strings I’d imagine

Might be beyond the AFL's means, they're forecasting upwards of $500m lost this year, the AFL are loaded, but not that loaded.

Their saving grace is they are a proven money making machine and have great collateral in Marvel which is valued at $1bn so they would have no trouble getting a bank loan if needed.

With the current TV rights deal and the fact it can’t be delivered on in 2020 makes me think the AFL will make the survival of the 18 AFL franchises a priority to the point some of the franchises will be treated like Gold Coast and run de facto like from City Hall.

The Port, Melbourne, GC, Brisbane, Saints and North franchises will survive

The level below the V/AFL and the level below that will be the sacrificial lambs with respect to footy clubs and survival post 2020

Surely players cannot take their full payments. Pay them max $60k

Serious question Boon but with this being Port's 150th year I'm presuming the club would have spent up more on merch, gala- events & advertising etc than they normally would for a normal season knowing they were going to re-coup more earnings?

With that being the case & China income an out for this year (plus the obvious no game day revenue) will things be even tighter money wise than normal over the last few years?

If members genuinely love their clubs, perhaps they'll be happy to pay for their membership despite not attending games (assuming they can afford to do so)?
