Can't ask much more from an administrator than he did to be fair.
Didn't handle the camp fiasco well at all but other than that he was very good.

I’m having a dig mate, to be honest I don’t really know. I do remember him on day 1 saying something along the lines of.... the players need to take pride in the Jersey..... I thought that set the tone.

The seasons just around the corner, so consider this a pre season barb ;)

Just banter MW, all good mate!

 all good CM, i've always found it weird that CEO's can get blamed for on field performance. Yes they ultimately are in control of the entire club but it's never as simple as that.

Anywho looks like we're both in a world of hurt in 2021 mate ;)

It looms as a "spoon off" for our mobs. Hope I am wrong.

Really?

Putting financials aside ( Adelaide's corporate and membership support will always have them financially sound ) the club hasn't been in worse shape culturally or on field in it's history. He's overseen the club's downfall to the point of a complete rebuild on and off field. I'm genuinely surprised you see his tenure as "very good".

He was there through the Walsh stuff, and part of the administration that led them to the GF and a couple AFLW flags.

I think the culture off field has probably always been shit, but well hidden from public view/knowledge. There were also cracks appearing before he came on board, but the camp fiasco definitely escalated everything and it blew up badly from there.

Absolutely guided them through the Walsh era along with Chapman and I think the most influential in that time, Walker.

There's a roll over period from the previous administration and the on field performances of 15/16/17 could be argued he inherited, however, since the start of '18 and that camp he's overseen nothing but a shambles.

Somehow he survived ( or did he? ) the review, the cultural issues internally with McLeod's / Riccuito's comments, the handling of Riccuito ( albeit since Olsen arrived he's been gagged ) along with the club under going a complete ground up rebuild through events that unfolded under his governance.

I'd be surprised if many Adelaide fans thought he was "very good" for the club.

inheriting success is a bullshit statement. If they missed finals in 15/16/17 it would have been his fault I bet.
His biggest flaw was the handling of the camp saga. Hanging offense? Probably and seems like it's finally happened.
Can't argue he's put us in a very good position moving forward both financially and with the AFLW team in and other ventures, including the beginning of the relocation discussion.
He could have pulled Roo in earlier I agree.

Again, if Geelong failed that first year, it's Scott's fault right?

Fagan was there for his commercial acumen, not much else. Anything he said in public had to be taken with a huge grain of salt.
Appeared to be uneasy when dealing with media, and has been largely missing since around 2018 when his public appearances almost dried up.
His own focus when he commenced was to deliver the best football program in the AFL. Got close, very close, but with messy exits from Sanderson and Pyke wasn't able to nail it.

So who will they look for?

What's David Pittman doing these days? From memory he's in the business world somewhere right?
I heard Craig Vozzo was back in Adelaide visiting family last week. Interview maybe?
Anyone worth poaching?

Was on track to do so, it seems, when Walsh was in charge with Bailey by his side. Sad beyond words.

Everyone wrote off Geelong for 2011.
Got smashed in the Prelim in 2010 and our only player from that side who played half decently was Gary Ablett Jnr who was leaving.
Was a fantastic coaching effort to win it that year even when 3 goals down in the 2nd quarter with Pods going off for rest of the game.
Was far from an inherited flag side.

Wasn't Adelaide 10th when Fagan took over?
And 3 years later were the best side in the comp?

PS I'm far from being a Fagan fan, thought he was useless but just saying....

My favourite of the three. As for Fagan, didn't he go above and beyond the scope of his duties to ensure Byrce Gibbs got to the club 'no matter what'. The Walsh scenario does deserve credit but the place was a shambles under his watch and and 2020 was the reward. Not sure I'd be singing Fagan's praises if I was a Blackbirds fan. Getting corporate bucks for the crows is hardly the toughest gig going around is it?
