The last kick out of defence then from Collingwood would have been 50m around the corner

pretty sure the umpire was right, however you should be able to make your angle worse if you want

you can start from a worse angle and once you break the line its play on. you dont have to start from the line

No you cant, the umpire was correct

KICKING FOR A GOAL
20.5.1 Line of The Mark
Where a Player from the Attacking Team is Kicking for a Goal after being awarded a Mark
or a Free Kick, the Kick shall be taken along a direct line from The Mark to the centre of the
Attacking Team’s Goal Line, except in the following cases:
(a) where the Mark or Free Kick is awarded within or on a line of the Goal Square, the
Kick shall be taken from directly in front of the Goal Line from a spot horizontally
across from where the Mark or Free Kick was awarded;
(b) where the Kick will occur after the siren, the Player shall be entitled to approach
The Mark from any direction, as long as the location of the Kick does not improve
the angle to the goal posts
Marshall was just allowed to start off on a worse angle after the siren then??

We’re our own worst enemy. Totally dominated play that qtr but miss simple targets, choose the wrong option & second guess. Not enough confidence unfortunately. On the other hand the Dogs back themselves in & don’t deviate.

Yeah thats my understanding, it was after the siren, ididnt actually pay any attention to what happened, did the umpire say he couldnt, or was it just a dumb ruckman takingthe shot?

I reckon I'm going to finish the season with alot of drinking. We are very crap at the moment and might be that shut side that falls into 8th. Probably not though based on the last few weeks.

Not a huge shock IMO
Thursday night and a Suns home game. Cheapest tickets at $27 for Richmond members (no reciprocal rights) v Sunday at Geelong for a Swans home game where Vic based Swans and Eagles members got free tickets. Both have a pretty good membership base in Victoria

Apparently tickets went on sale at either 10am or 12pm on the Thursday. Plus, despite what the AFL think, people still have to travel to and from the game then get up for work on Friday. I think Thursday night footy works for those viewing it on TV but not so much for those working 9-5 on a Friday.

I understand that the Richmond members would've been in seats very different to their normal seats (which would annoy them no doubt). Not a lot of incentive to go to the footy IMO.

Sign of the times I guess, nothing there would have held too many supporters back in the days when the TV coverage was nowhere near what it is today. Still a disappointing turn out from the Tiger faithful though imho who have been well rewarded by this current outfit, but aren't showing up when the side needs them most.

No reciprocal for Richmond members as it wasn’t their home game. Richmond members had to pay a minimum of $27 to attend

So all in all we're saying Richmond fans will find any excuse to not go and watch their side right now?

Not at all, I think crowds for all Vic clubs will struggle to some degree as financially many just don’t have the funds to attend. The state has crippled many folk and I people just don’t have the money. Make the tickets half price if need be to try and get people back to the footy.

I was wondering when this was going to become an issue for Victorians, surely with all the lock dows it was going to start hitting the hip pocket.

They are really struggling. One guy rang in and said that his family of 5 had season tickets for Richmond at a cost of close to $3k but has since lost his job and his season tickets wouldn’t get him into the Suns game and instead he would need to fork out an extra $150 to attend Thursday night. Needless to say he didn’t go. Victoria really is in a dire situation currently and football fairly low on priority list

What a cop out, sure there are going to be some members struggling, but Richmond have given their supporters the most magnificent ride and when they are under a little bit of pressure they go missing?

No doubt they do have some flaky supporters but I don’t think over here we appreciate how tough people are doing it over there. Vic crowds are well down across the board
