But the travel...f*ck me, talk about that getting over played.

takes a special team to travel that much during the finals and win the big one 8)

Especially without the week off
July 11th 2012....

Makes me wonder why Melbourne went and got 2 former AFL coaches into the group in the last 2 years. ;)

True, that is why 2016 was so special: Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Melbourne ;)

Quite a different scenario actually. 16 minutes into the third quarter we were 19 points up, had the ball camped in our forward line and had scored 8 of the last 9 goals... we were looking likely winners. If we had taken our chances at the time and scored a couple more goals, it may have been a different result. GWS were never in the hunt, right from the opening bounce.
Cheers

Besides maybe a quarter and a half of footy, you were smashed by over 100 pts.

Shows how terrible Port were then, losing to us at home by over 12 goals ;)
I have to admit that I pretty much discount the last quarter. We had pretty much conceded Melbourne were far too good, dropped our heads and gave up - not a good thing to say about a side, but we were mentally destroyed by 17 minutes of football.

Wasn't so much the travel; it was that everywhere they went they had to start quarantine anew. Five weeks without being able to leave hotel rooms except to have the occasional training session. Having said that, there is no way we would have ever beaten Melbourne once they got their run going.
Cheers

They weren't in quarantine like returned travellers and locked in a box, they had the whole resort at Joondalup ( and trust me, that's an ok place! ) to work with.

Booney, it was Melbourne that was at Joondaloop; the Bulldogs were stuck in rooms at the Tradewinds Hotel at East Fremantle.
Plus, we were quarantined in Launceston, Brisbane and Adelaide, not even being allowed a training run on the day before the game here.

I'm assuming the Powers at the Power are finally going to officially tap into the incredible footy mind know as Dave from Alberton and put him in the box with Ken.

Hopefully the happy clapping isn't too loud, I doubt Ken would mind though, he likes those that agree with him.

No secret, we, like many clubs, are having to adjust our soft cap spend post COVID cuts, simply not in a position to bring in a senior assistant, will have to promote from within.

It was quite amazing how each team dominated. There was probably only half of the second quarter where it felt the game was being played 50-50.

FWIW, every is talking about Viney's attack on the ball at that boundary throw-in that lead to the Fritsch goal as the turning point, but about a minute before that Hannan got a free about 60m out and cocked up a handball to Macrae, or perhaps Macrae was trying to make a play that wasn't there, obviously trying to get a running shot from 50 to get passed the defence. That to me was the turning point.
