Collingwood beating Melbourne last week and Carlton losing to Richmond last night does change things here.
I think Collingwood will fall away and Carlton will win enough to finish 7-8 with Richmond.

Collingwood have a pretty good run home so should make the 8 from here.
Should win our next 4, GWS may be a tough one.
Port, melb, Sydney and Carlton our last 4.
Should we win 2 or 3 of those.
That will get us there.

You could quite easily lose all 4 of those games as well given the evenness of the comp this year.
I’d love to see Carlton, Collingwood and Richmond all make it though and see Carlton play Collingwood in a final this year.

Yep we certainly could....hello West Coast!
Carlton v Collingwood prelim would be out of control wouldn't it.

But it won't be this year, you'll not make it that far ;)

They are the sleeping giant. To beat Freo in Perth and Melbourne rates highly. Brisbane failed to beat Freo.

The way we're going a gold membership will entitle you to a gig in a forward pocket.

How the fxxx do Richmond, year upon year have little or no injuries this time of year?

Players whose bodies can stand up to the rigours of the AFL.

Some players no matter the amount of gym work they do simply have a body that fails on them.

Nah its no where near just luck.

Just like some people can lift heavier than others, some people have a body that allows for greater physical contact, just like some people have greater bone density whilst others don't etc.

Injury prone players tend to stay injury prone players or it takes them years to develop a body that can handle the rigours......there not just constantly unlucky. The hard part is how do you measure ones body ability to stand up to the demands of the AFL, its not simply the bloke with the lowest far percentage or the bloke with the biggest muscle or the bloke that squats the deepest.

Look at blokes Dustin Fletcher and Jack Crisp who have played hundreds of games in a row....there not just lucky every game. There blessed through either genetics or hard work that has given them a body that stands up to it. On the other hand Xavier Duursma gets stuck in a strong breeze and he breaks something.

That's not saying there isn't the occasional unlucky injury but its far from a your lucky or unlucky. That's why the same teams seem to always be struck with injuries whilst other teams seemed to always be kissed on the dick when it comes to injuries.

Look at a bloke like Aaron Hall who continuously tears hamstrings......at a guess he is probably spending far more time than most footballers trying to condition his hamstrings for a game of AFL. His got some of the best experts assisting him with everything from strength training, rehab and diet yet his hamstrings just say NO.

Going to be in Perth for Round 17 - West Coast v Carlton - going just to see a game at Optus Stadium. Can't find anything on the AFL website or Ticketmaster to purchase tickets.

Anyone know why the 'buy tickets' option isn't available on the AFL website for that game and a couple of others?

Its a bit of luck and a bit of good management.
Good management in so far as, picking players with good physiology.
A bit of luck goes into that.
On top of that, a player can have great physiology but still sleep with the light on.

Richmond are just having a lucky patch.
Glad we don't play them again in the minor round.

Sydney, Fremantle, Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Richmond to still play.

Suns, GWS, Essendon and Adelaide the wins on offer.

No chance. Adelaide might finish above Port.

Port will finish 10th I think.

Crows will finish 3rd bottom - GC, North (A), Melb, Hawks (A), Collingwood, Sydney (A), Carlton, WCE (A), North, Port - hard to see them winning more than 2 if that.. and i wouldn't rule out North knocking them off next week either.
