Christ, that proves how good their comeback has been if they’ve been working against those odds too

Yeah abit like Bulldogs whilst losing is always disappointing there was enough signs to say there around the mark again.

Are we ever going to see the best of Rozee, is he just unlucky with injuries or is his body just not ready for the vigours of the AFL.

Dursmaa collarbone injury
McKenzie looks a serious knee injury
Rozee rolled an ankle, came back on but didn’t really get near it after that.

McKenzie and Dursma. And apparently Todd had even less impact today than Steven Marshall.

Probably get shot down here but when everything is on our terms he's a jet. Didn't look much in it, kinda like the playground stinga that you run or shake out. Fantapants is the same, not everyone has the same pain threshold.

Just watched the Brisbane Port game. Significant injury toll on Port. Does look like McKenzie has the worst with a knee.

Robbie Gray looked injured from the start. Also thought Lycett looked spent a long way out. Probably did not get much of a break with the high injury toll.

Your not far off, doesn’t seem to play well when slightly injured either, when he came back last night he just didn’t get involved in any contests, I remember thinking the same on another occasion last year as well. Injuries seem to really affect him, some blokes seem to battle well through injuries but not so much him.

Huge expectation on The Hornet and is going well thus far.

Fast game. Quick as.

Do I infer from Dermie's comments regarding Wingard in the long sleeve that Clarkson would not let players wear them?

Yep, he banned them.

I remember Pagan banned facial hair when he coached North.

One for UK fan but the crowds seem to be really down for round 1 especially given ‘thirst’ for football to come back.

Electronic ticketing being blamed in a lot of quarters.
I think the AFL would be reasonably happy with the first 4 games in Melbourne especially considering St Kilda and Geelong were the "home" teams in their matches.

PS I took the wife to two games so I did my bit! The atmosphere in Melbourne was awesome, the whole city was going off. Notsomuch interstate though, should have started with derbies for the interstate teams IMHO.

PPS official crowds so far:
Melbourne v Bulldogs 58.002
Carlton v Richmond 72,179
St Kilda v Collingwood 40,129 (there was virtually no tix available for this game a week out)
Cats v Essendon 54,495
GWS v Sydney 25,572
Brisbane v Port 25,100
Hawks v NM 38,270 (what happened to Hawthorns 50 gazillion members?)
