Same top 8 teams as last season and Carlton 9th again
I don't think the top 8 has remained unchanged from one year to the next.
There was a good article on fox footy social media (hard to believe I know) which broke down the last 20-30 years of changes in the top eight and four.
It basically said there are two main rules you can go by. The average number of changes is three (2.
form one year to the next in the top eight and rule 2, one team that misses the finals will make the top four the next year.
Max Laughton who wrote the article predicts it will be:
Geelong
Brisbane
Melbourne
Carlton
Richmond
Sydney
Port
Freo
Collingwood
Footscray
Gold Coast
Adelaide
Saints
West Coast
GWS
Essendon
North
Hawthorn
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
