It's a long shot, but Port v Brisbane Grand Final on the 20yr anniversary of Ports 1st premiership has a nice synergy to it.

Sydney deserve to win the whole comp to be fair, they've been the stand out since Day 1.

Got my Prelim final tix fine again, not cheap though, $209 each but that's cat 1 near the MCC though.
How did Power fans go with their tix to the SCG?

I briefly considered it but ended up deciding against it.
Flights were in the order of $800, plus accommodation, plus incidentals, was looking at $2k before even getting into the casino, plus the fact i don't have any leave available at the moment.
Will end up watching this one on the idiot box.

Yeah I know the feeling, our flights are well over 1k. Got accom across the road from the G for a good price though.
And at least double the week after if we make it, will definitely be driving next week if we do make it that far.
September is bloody expensive, when were over there for the GF 2 years ago we spent thousands of dollars, didn't help that beers were $18 a pop and with the GF Friday being a public holiday in Melbourne everyone was charging extra tariffs.
Glad I earn a lot more now as that trip took us about 6 months to pay off!

Didn't for a moment contemplate going to Sydney. In the event we get to the week after we'll be on the road for that one.

Yeah Melbourne is far easier for me. Can drive for $250 in petrol and I've got enough family there that I can generally find a spare bed easily enough.

Company car so no fuel costs for me and we'll stay out at Ballarat and train in. Train takes just under 90 minutes and then Sunday you're 90 minutes ahead of Melbourne commuters. Trains leave from Ballarat to Melbourne and vice versa every 40 minutes.

Ridiculous odds for the swan port game. Port paying $3.30 is ridiculous. We haven't beaten them since 2016
