Check out the scar on Geelong's Tom Lonergan who had a kidney removed after a heavy clash in the match against Melbourne late last year. If I had something like that snaking accross my guts the last thing I'd be trying to do is trying to play league football. Next time someone uses the old 'Handbag' tag here is one Cat that won't be wearing it.

REB

If he wasn't getting paid a six figure salary, do you think he'd be playing? just a thought.... :?:

Good luck to him! I had a serious kidney injury four years ago and know how worrying it is. And his was much worse than mine.

I reckon money would be the last thing on his mind.

You're right MW, it's all about the money  . Just how much do you reckon the Catters are paying Lonergan? He's only played six matches.

I'm tipping he wouldn't be playing SANFL - because he wouldn't transfer interstate to play at that level. But I'm sure he would still be attempting to play at VFL or top suburban level.

I was using SANFL as a comparison, as most people would of realised.

From 1983 to 1987 the Glenelg Football Club played SANFL with only one kidney...
Then Robin Kidney headed off to Darwin!

I don't know MW. But I'd say the difference would be more about trying to motivate yourself for a secondary competition rather than any financial inducement. He's on bugger all MW.
