Dear stampy
Thank you for your feedback via our website.
We are aiming to make racing in SA more family friendly, and to this end we do hold special family days, for example the Pictures in the Park Meeting held 17th January, Saturday 10th March, and Boxing Day. These days are full of free children's rides and entertainment.
The SAJC race 65 times per year, and as such it is not viable to run children's entertainment at every race meeting.
We are sorry you did not enjoy your time at the races, but hope to see you on Saturday 10th March as a prelude to Adelaide Cup here at Allan Scott Park Morphettville.

i am pleased to have got a reply so quickly but what they are saying is they only want the family there a few times a year, they have no idea how to cater for the public in general unless i want to get super pissed and buy $7 coronas and make an arsehole of meself!!!!!!!

they were discussing some situations in the racing industry not long ago with the racing minister.

so 3 times a year they want families to attend

STAMPY - i think you should reply to them and tell them about your WA experience and cannington with the rides on all year round.

The SAJC has unwittingly told the racing public that familes are not welcome at the races except for three times a year...why bother???

As a parent, I find it very hard to convince my better half to let me go to the races alone. Now I know that there is only going to be entertainment 3 times a year, I don't think I will bother at all...and the SAJC wonder why they can't get people to the track...

You would have thought they would have offered you some free tickets for the March day, a little bit of goodwill doesnt go astry, if you went and enjoyed your day your previous experience would be wiped from your mind...

id ring up dennis markham at the advertiser, he'll mention it somewhere along the line.

the SAJC should be handing STAMPY free tickets to try and bring him back to the track.

they complain about low attendances and when someone does go and gives them feedback they give that piss poor excuse...........

as mentioned before the average age of race goers would be 60+ and here is STAMPY bringing in his family which contains young kids, those kids are the FUTURE of the industry.
