Bordertown Abandoned!

Postby jackpot jim » Fri Mar 16, 2007 2:27 pm

Todays Bordertown gallops have just been abandoned due to the jockeys concerns
over an unsafe part of the track past the winning post.
the meeting was abandoned at about 2.05, the same time the 1st race was due.
The problem with the section of track in question was that it was patchy, nothing
to do with the weather or a sudden change in track conditions.
Wouldn't u have thought that stewards, officials, jockeys reps etc could have
forseen this problem coming and made a decision earlier to save everyone the inconvenience
of traveling all that way for nothing.
Another example of a lack of professionalism by the gallop mob in this state and they wonder
why the industry is struggling.

grub....Your back!!! where you been? on the Biggest Loser?

If the Jockeys were serious about their safety they would get a representative check out the course the day before every meeting...would save a lot of stuffing around and wouldnt be that hard to arrange

SA RACING - FFS get your act together and get things right.. a steward should have already checked it - because the track manager should have alerted them to a problem, the meeting could have been transferred to a nearby track... but why would you want to have turnover..

Just like their caller... all I can say is WDH's
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined
