Pick one horse in each of the 10 races. 3 points for first, 2 for second, 1 for third. Winner takes all, $1000. For a tie, a count back on who had the most winners.

My tips for the day :

R1 - 3 = 0 POINTS
R2 - 3 = 2nd - 2 POINTS
R3 - 4 = 0 POINTS
R4 - 8 = 0 POINTS :(
R5 - 2 = 2 POINTS ( TOTAL 4 FROM 5 RACES, IM BUGGERED )
R6 - 2 = 3 POINTS ( 7 )
R7 - 3 = 3 POINTS ( 10 )
R8 - 4 = 3 POINTS ( 13 ) Come on!!!
R9 - 2 = 0 POINTS :(
R10 - 16

I'll edit and update this during the day.

Not sure Squawk. A mate called into the pub earlier and gave me the update. I would think with no points in race 9 I would be out of the running now....I might ring the pub and find out.

*Edit*

Bar staff been too busy to update the board so I dont know what the leaders are on ( it was 13 a couple of races ago and Im only on 13 ) and by default with the scratching I get the top weight.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

a mate of mine got the quinella, 1100 for 5 dollar bet, but if 1st and second swapped he would have had quinella, trifecta and first 4, that would have been about 22,000

Johno, I was going to do the same thing, and by jeezus I was sh1tting myself at the end. Although I did think that the 3 had won just, I didn't realise how close it was.

For what its worth, I did miss out badly on Tullamore, but I did get the tri (21% of it). A bloke at work and myself were waxing on what outsider we'd pick and both agreed on the 12. Shame it didn't win in the end but oh well I'll take it as a consolation prize!

Dead right, I'm spewing the 12 didn't win otherwise the tri would've paid thrice as much. Oh well, happy with a collect on the cup.

I saw the incident he was suspended for and it was definitely worthy of the penalty handed out.
He was an idiot for taking shit rides at a shit meeting only days before the Melbourne Cup and a once in a lifetime opportunity at a triple crown.

we really need to start supporting distance races more, pump in some money and incentives for owners/trainers.

automatic entry = all state cups - and they should all be 3200m
Derby and oaks winners should get in
add in winners of the current races where you can get entry

that way we will have horses who are proven at the distance and are local horses, much easier to dissect their form then horses running in europe
