G'day all,
Have been firing with the tipping last week, and hopefully leading any punters into some good returns. All games are Friday night this week.
MELBOURNE KESTRELS v PERTH ORIOLES
Not exactly one for the purists here, although Perth are rebounding from a good win against the Hunter Jaegers (*sigh*) last week. Melbourne hit the front in the last term against Sydney last week, but just couldn't quite get over the line for those of us that took the $7 on offer. This should be a different kestrel of fish for Melbourne - expecting Melb $1.05, Perth $8.25: points option of 19.5
TIP: MELB 19-21
MELBOURNE PHOENIX v HUNTER JAEGERS
The flying Phoenix, undefeated this year, run into a team that will be more than nuisance value for anyone that underestimates them. While going under to Perth last week, Hunter have been generally impressive this year with some real versatility around the court under coach Jon Fletcher. The Phoenix, boasting one of the best in the world in Sharelle McMahon, however, should pack too many guns for Hunter. Don't take silly short odds though, as Hunter will have their moments. Expecting Melb $1.10, Hunter $6.00, points at 17.5, which leans me toward looking very carefully at the points option on the visitors.
TIP: PHOENIX 15-17
ADELAIDE V SYDNEY
What a belter this will be. If you have the slightest interest in netball, head along to ETSA Park for this one. Two of the league's best, going hard at it all night, and there should be very little in it toward the end. Laura VonBertouch's 100th CBT game should give the locals some motivation to win for their inspirational skipper, and the clash between Kristen Hughes and Australian skipper Liz Ellis is worth the trip alone. Really hard to confidently pick the winner in this one, but we'll take the home team. Expecting Sydney to open $1.65, Adelaide $2.15, points of 2.5, which really leans me toward a go on the TBirds
TIP: ADELAIDE 4-6
AIS DARTERS V QUEENSLAND FIREBIRDS
The Darters have had their moments this year, but ultimately, lack of experience is costing them at vital moments, as to be expected with a young group. Queensland are travelling reasonably, but are still yet to deliver that real killer performance that coach Vicki Wilson was so used to as one of this country's finest players. Their pace around the court will be matched by the Darters exhuberance, so it comes down to the goal circle edge for QLD for mine. The fifth best attack statistically meets the least potent. Enough for me to take QLD but again, not at silly odds. I'd expect UniTAB to put up QLD $1.20, Darters $4.00, points of 8.5, which is about right. Don't take anything less than that on QLD though.
TIP: QLD 11-13
