The Phantoms Guest has done NOTHING since transferring to the Lips stable. I'm sure he is very disappointed with the way the nag is performing. Mind you, I'm not sure its quite ready for the claimers.

Not talking through my pocket - it's the first horse I scrub in town straight away - it's never performed in Melbourne..
I think Adam Hamilton summed it up about 3 months ago in his sprint lane column..
Sydney Champ...
Melbourne Chump...

The horse is yet to be competitive in Melbourne and I can't see it happening soon and it's the middle of winter > so what hope the horse when the better ones come back over summer...
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

Things like that don't happen at the trots

MT - everyone at Moonee Valley I spoke to throught it was a boat race and everyone I walked past was talking about it being a boat race...

I didn't back him, in fact I backed Scruffy, but since then I've had a good think about the race and maybe it wasn't as big a boat race as people were saying on Friday night - on times he had to win, he went 63 the first half and home in a tick over 56 (not many would get around him going 56 last halves) At the end of the day there was no death seat pressure ever going to come...
1 THE PHANTOMS GUEST - Over-rated claimer at best
2 BRAESIDE SEEL STAR - 1st up and isn't free for all class anymore
3 SCRUFFY MURPHY - 1 trick pony... sit-sprint
4 THE WARP DRIVE - 1st up and 2100m may not have suited, didn't want to get into a speed burn and once crossed was never going to come off the fence
5 SOKYOLA - was primed for his last race
6 JAY PEES RULER - WA form generally doesn't match up
7 SEQUOIAHS SPIRIT - 1 trick pony... sit-sprint

At the end of the day I lost on the race, but wasn't disappointed to see the old boy win!

Spot on 100% SCD. In Hindsight, the 3/1 was a Gift Price in that Field. the weakest field he raced against for ages in Vic. Warp Drive was the only Danger but being 1st up was always the Query and the 56 last half saw the Best horse on the Night win. A Boatie it Certainly WASN'T as Most of Sokys' wins at the Valley over the Years were all of similar Fashion - Lead, Slacken off, Sprint Home.
