Without even trying, MT, I can just see it now "Contest dependency" and no deal. Mind you, this rule on its own could create a good debate worthy of its own thread!!! I can understand it usually (eg. can't have two in the same event, as one can affect the other), but there have been a lot of times even the TAB staff can't explain it.

Yep, one of the fundamental theorems of probability that punters should understand:

P(A and B) = P(A)xP(B) only if the two events A and B are independent.

The Braun and Hansen events are obviously dependent.
