Been interstate and couldn't post till now but my news is good, if puzzling

I boxed 7 horses at half a unit - nos 6,7,11,12,14,18 and 24 (Thanks MAL - you inspired me to include 24!) - cost was $105

Maybe Better was scratched.

Trifecta came in and a full unit at UniTab paid $1,472 at which half is $736.

I got back $830.95 which after the outlay was $725.95.

I cant work out if the Maybe Better scratching was deducted before the payout, or if not, why the payout wasn't $736+$105 = $841? Can anyone clarify this payout's calculations for me?

Needless to say I was sweating on the result with my ticket after the scratching of Maybe Better, but certainly happy with the outcome overall!

Cup Tri on PUNITAB was $1571.90 for $1- so halve that and you have a return of $785.95....now you boxed 7 which cost $105-, but after scratching it reduced your Tri to 6 boxed which costs $60- so you also got a $45- refund...
