THE ANGLE PARK CEMETRY

Postby mighty_tiger_79 » Wed May 10, 2006 7:19 pm

WELL the wednesday morning meetings at Angle Park are becoming a joke. Punters aren't turning up anymore and punters left halfway through the meeting. there was only 30 odd people upstairs and a third of those were trainers.

the reason, no bookie, and they only have two tote opens. we predicted the scenario the week before it happened and it has occurred the 2 weeks the bookie has not operated.
You have to line up 3 - 4 minutes before a race to get your bets on and with small pools it doesnt take a lot for makor fluctuations to occur. You back your selection at what you think are good odds only to get out of the line with your bets on to find your selection has shortened and at the new price you dont want to be on.

if they continue with no bookie SURELY they need another operator!!

I dont think that they want people to attend any meetings, i mean we are better off sitting in a pub!

a trainer and big punter who turns over massive amounts of cash, lost on monday night, and wanted to try and get his money back, where was the bookie? the bookie was happy to take his money on monday night!!!! he feels like boycotting betting with this bookie. the bookie claimed that he wasnt making any money out of the wednesday meetings yet this bloke told us his investments for the last month that the bookie was there!!!!

same bloke, originally from Melbourne, hadnt been back there for a number of years, the CEO of The Meadows comes up to him with a kiss and a hug, this morning at ANGLE PARK the officials gave no acknowledgement to him, he pumps thousands of dollars into the industry and sponsors country tracks, some of which charge him to get in!!!!!!!!!!

i mean fancy not even acknowledging a major sponsor!!!!

all the big punters arent returning to the track because of the no bookie situation and with no bookie they dont have a need to be at the track, they can do it all at home with Sky channel and a computer. there were several of those punters missing in action and i dont think they will be seen again, which is a loss to the industry given the amount of turnover they create.

the industry is absolutely screwed and it is going in one direction until something dramatic happens.

there is just so much to say and i could keep going, but i think that you all get the message.

MT79 RE CEMETRY

That very BIG punter you are referring to sponsors a club
in the bush and gets charged an admission to get in.

Punters who collectively turn over thousands of dollars either
did not attend or left during the day, most of them appalled
at the no bookie circumstances.
Gary.S. gave up
Son of Mark[a trainer] has lost interest as he cant get the
bookies odds for a guide to the overs.
Big D left half way through...his big bets meant the TAB
shortened his divis too much.
Carpy Bill kept his promise and didnt show up.
Flash Eddie said no bookie no Eddie.
Taxi Ab , Damo, Wild Trev,Donny, Big Shane, all wednesday regulars didnt
come as well.

I am very very close to also giving up.
this is what happened to me today with the 2 tote windows[need3 ..no bookie now]
RACE3 i put my bet on with 3 minutes to go[to ensure my investment got on]
the dog came in from $2-00 a place to a $1-30...a bet i would not have put on
under normal cicumstances.
RACE4 i backed a dog which halved its odds also 3 minutes before they jumped.
Both dogs lost.
RACE5 i lined up with a minute to go...i did not get on as the line up was too big
I would have backed the winner at $14 and got the $735 trifecta for $18 invested.
I quoted my non bets before they jumped to a regular for verification.

Whats worse i predicted this would happen to me on a wednesday the day before.

I love the dogs i like the people who work there but I will give the club one last chance.

if a trainer gets a winner and the owners are there watching then they will go to the bar and have a drink and go back to the tote to collect and perhaps re-invest it, the money circulates around, everytime WHEELER is the owner of a dog getting prizemoney, half of that goes straight back over the border and doesnt circulate within the local industry.

there may be some fireworks at KULPARA this weekend and if there are any of you who follow the puppies it could turn out to be quite entertaining!!!!!!

Punters go to the casino and get valet parking, cheap meals, cheap drinks, all sorts of incentives and vouchers.
What do you get at the dogs?? you get absolutely nothing, you get over-priced food and drinks!!!
mind you i should at the SAJC into that as well because they serve up cold food!!!!!!!!

Spot on AGAIN.

WHEELER [of Bale fame] is the equivalent of the GST.
He takes 50% of the stakemonies and it travels over
the border to him.
Yeah and its not circulating here as well.
