Here's something I posted on a betting thread on another forum.

I'm just hashing over the weekends punt & one stat took my fancy.
Porks strike rate over the Hawkes is astounding. Won past 6 & 7/8 since 2001, past 3 by an average of 83 points. Hawthorns past 4 losses this season have been by an average of 50 points.
BUT.
The thing thats making me a quid this year is betting against the Power at home espech the Doggies & Lions (both 40+). Ports record at home this year except for a 4 point fall in v The Saints is 5 losses by an average of 54 points. Silly as it may sound, the Hawkes at 40+ are paying $18, I realise that this risky to say the least, but how many times over the last few years when checking the around the ground scores the comment when hearing an upset is '' who..******* Hawthorn???"

Highly unlikely, especially with Whorethorns injuries at present, but $18, thems good odds going on Porks home average points total.

No doubt as I pointed out in the first paragraph, but I'll still raise you the $18 price line.

Doesn't matter what the odds are if you don't win. Forget what ever stats you have read. Do you think Port will lose by more than 40 points? Doubtful.
