GREYHOUND CHIEF QUITS

Greyhound Racing SA chairman Robert Kennedy has announced his impending resignation from the GRSA board to occur on September 30.
Kennedy-who was the centre of controversy at the recent Greyhound Public Forum-has rejected suggestions he is leaving because of criticism from some industry paticipants regarding the recent performance of GRSA Board and Management.
Instead he has cited recent statements from the Racing Minister Michael Wright-along with increasing business commitments-as the impetus for his resignation.
"The major reason I stood for the board last time was to negotiate with the government over clawback." Kennedy said.
"When the Minister made his unequivical statement that the government would not consider even deferring clawback payments I felt it was an appropriate time to leave,"

Is Kennedy jumping ship?
Is he scared of industry participants abusing him ?
Or is he quiting in accordance to the above article.

During that infamous FORUM RIOT he was alledgedly attacked by greyhound trainer Mr Brown
In a later hearing BROWN was found guilty and was disqualified for a period of 6 months.

Also JOHN KATAKASI the star who took over the forum that day was also found guilty and had his license suspended for 4 months and fined $450...an appeal was lodged.

MAL will continue to report on this as I find out .

KENNEDY

Found out tonight on the grapevine that Kennedy quit
because he is on too many other boards externally.

Two trainers told me he's looking over his shoulder and
is copping a lot of flak for his inglorious performance in
thet public forum, and that is a likely reason.

Obviously the man has great credentials and is probably
used to dealing with more literate people in his other
board positions but as for being there with the battlers
in the greyhound industry?????????????????????????????
Changes had to be made.
