Tonight, Globe Derby holds centre stage, with two $50,000 Finals for the 2-y-olds. Being Southern Cross, only local horses can win. All the prize money will saty here. Thats good for the sport.
Race-5, for the fillies, is nothing short of impossible. There are three ways of finding the winner.
1...Use a pin. 2...Put the numbers in a hat, and play cross lotto. 3...Guess !! Probably the best thing to do is take your three favourite numbers in a trifecta. Someone will get lucky.
Race-7, for the colts & geldings looks easy. Simply box 1-5-6 in a trifecta, and wait to collect. Not sure of the right order, but you will collect.
Meanwhile, at Albion Park, my pin up boy - Blacks A Fake - will go around in the sunshine sprint, over 1660M. A top quality race, with no explosive speed of the front row, makes it quite interesting. Five of the front six are "death" horses, and while something has to lead, the pressure will still be on. There are only two ways, Blackie can be beaten. 1...A poor drive. While Natalie Rasmussen is not the best driver going around, her affinity with this horse is fantastic. 2...A gear malfunction. We have all seen it occur. Otherwise, I believe tonight, he will stamp himself as the undisputed king of Harness by winning the Sprint, even off the awkward barrier of 11.
Wherever you are at 7.10PM tonight, take 1min 55secs off to see an out and out champion.......
If you can get out of the housework (oops, is that a dirty word on this site?) on Sunday, get yourself in front of a screen to see 10-races from Maryborough..ALL for Trotters. Culminating in the $75,000 3-y-o Derby in race-9.
Just watching should be a big enough buzz for any addict. Good punting, and as always "good luck".
