Gawler dogs on Sundays has potential, esp during summer, should put up the jumping castles etc and entertain the kids to make it a good arvo out for the family.

Im up in Qld at the moment and they are covering the proposed merger closely up here because of UNITAB being run from here...Mals right TABCORP are out (which is probably bad news for punters as we would have combined pools with NSW) tattersalls (the pokie and lotto mob) are looking like getting the takeover...would suspect things will stay the same as currently - they are simply looking to diversify their gaming business.

Spingvale Snow - had been disappointing, I know for a fact that this pup was bought for $10k - will be doing well if it can win that much IMO.

Im off to Dreamworld tomorrow - no snide remarks! - might not get to do the form fully, but will at least cover the AG treble

as for gawler dogs i'll go up for them as i like gawler, mal & mt usually tell me about 7 winners up there as there is no depth in the fields & i went up for the cup late last year & won thanks to those two & the foods real good too

The voulenteers do a great job at the canteen, bbq's etc
The food is from the loacal bakery, and is well priced.
Gawler is my pet track, pity its so far.
I will sneak out to a couple of meetings.

as some of you astute people may be aware the greyhounds dropped the prizemoney and every 3rd monday the dogs are running for the same as they do on a wednesday morning and the meeting will be graded accordingly. An example of prizemoney, yesterday Graduation race 1 ran for $500 with $335 to the winner, 2nd $105, 3rd $50 4th $10. that is the prizemoney that will be on offer every 3rd monday night when the meeting is graded as Angle Park Day.

As a result we saw a couple of weeks ago a number of high profile trainers boycott the meeting because of the prizemoney decrease. A few weeks back for the 11 races there was just under 90 noms where normally there would be 110. there were numerous late scratchings and only 78 or so dogs ran that night and 7 of 11 races were NTD - no third dividend.

They are boycotting because if you dont get strong fields and FULL fields, the turnover will decrease, the administrators cant have that.

The trainers that will be boycotting are McCaulley, Collins, Hockley, Payne, Giniotis, Haagmans. a couple of these trainers took dogs interstate or waited for tuesdays gawler meeting.

With the low nominations and the fact they extended nominations the first monday night the prizemoney dropped, the admin begged STEVE COLLINS to nominate but he refused. The CLUB then rang Lisa Rasmussen and she supplied roughly 15 dogs that night to fill up the fields.

A trainer was fined $50 for bringing his dog 1.2kg over weight to the races, well the monday night which they struggled to get noms in there were SEVERAL DOGS THAT WERE OVERWEIGHT AND NOTHING GOT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the trainers werent penalised.

so the monday night a couple of weeks ago with all the no third divvies YOU were punting on OVERWEIGHT DOGS and YOU the PUNTER didnt even know.

Those overweight dogs were allowed to run and the
TAB punters were betting on dogs severely handicapped.

Yes a minor dog trainer copped a $50 fine for producing a dog
that was over the 1 kilo limit....yet that night if you believe it, it is alledged
that some dogs were up to 3 kilos up in weight.

So in summary every 3rd monday this may happen AGAIN !

well ladies and gentlemen here we go again for another night at the office

1 - the 2 is a leader only but it battled on well last start behind a dog that will go through the grades. the 4 is first up from VIC. the 6 could be the early leader.

2 - 5 best dog and 1 should be in the finish

3 - 4

4 - 7

5 - interesting race, plenty of early pace and i think there may be some trouble so ill settle on the 1 for a place as it will last early and rail through nicely.

6 - 4 best dog but................... the 8 could be thereabouts

7 - work around 1,7

8 4 place

9 - the 2 will be fitter for the run. the 4 should just win

10 - 6 good early pace

11 - 3 place and the 8 is well boxed
