FORMER Australian Idol host James Mathison is being tipped by betting agencies as the favourite to replace dumped judge Kyle Sandilands.
Network Ten announced the sacking of Sandilands on Monday after outrage over a live radio stunt in which a 14-year-old girl revealed she had been raped when she was just 12.
With Ten now looking for a permanent replacement to join fellow judges Marcia Hines and Ian "Dicko" Dickson, betting agency Sportingbet has released odds on the favourites.

Mathison, who quit the show last year after six seasons as co-host, leads the charge at $2.25.
He's followed by Tina Arena at $3.50, Ruby Rose and Guy Sebastian at $6.50, and Dannii Minogue at $7.50. At long odds are Molly Meldrum, American Idol's hanging judge Simon Cowell and former Australia Idol judge Mark Holden.
