According to AG this is what they do.....
put $3000 the place on 4runners = $12 000 outlay

the other 4 runners which should be fancied runners will end up paying stupid odds the place.

Then they put as much as they can on the other 4 to place on an agency (sportsbet/sportingbet/betstar ect.) that pays out on unitab results.

Say they get $1,000 the place on the other 4 runners which in this case is no's 1, 2,3,7.

When one of them runs a place they get the masssive divie.

$1000 at $60 = $60,000 collect for a $16,000 total outlay..... easy way to make a years wages in 30 secs...... Imagine if 2 of the high priced place runners ran a place????
Imagine If the 7 ran a place - $1000 at $780 would hurt bigtime ...that is $780,000

It is very astute punting and will keep happening if agencies continue to match TAB prices of these small pool meetings.

I am suprised they havent woken up to it yet..

If anyone wants to get a syndicate going I might try it.

From AG

This is what I am looking at doing in the first dog race at NZ soon.

Doing the form and picking a rank outsider and having $10,000 the place on it. The pool in generally around $350 normally for the place.
This will ensure that the rank outsider starts at $1 the place and the rest will be huge odds.
I will then try and get $1000 the place on the other 7 runners and gaurenteed two big returns probably 3 if the rank outsider misses a place at $1.

We will nedd $17,000 to do this and this way we are gaurenteed 2 returns of $1,000 bets (should be 3) the place at the largely inflated prices..... can anyone work out what sort of divie we will be looking at???? If the pool is say $10, 350 and our $10 k is on one dog? what will the other be paying? It would have to be similar to this example you have put up. Imagine $1000 x $60 or $1000 x $238.......

I will be offering units to be part of this. Units are worth $500. So please PM Another Grub if you are interested.

Can anyone see any floors in the system? concerns..... just hope this other syndicate doesnt do it on the same race I spose.....

If we each started by putting in $500 or $1000 and something went wrong it would not be catastrophic. But personally losing $17,000 would dent my budget.

Any thoughts ? Ideas ? Comments?

Very tempted.

But just bought into a nag myself this morning & it's getting a little tight.

Only flaw is if that other syndicate target the same race, then there could be some trouble. To me, that seems the only flaw in the system. Is there any way of checking when and where this syndicate strikes?

I'd be keen to give it a go. How about a share for $250 instead of $500 though?

put me down for $1k.

They must let you do it the place G or why the hell would people put that amount of money into a place pool. You just put place when you place your bets.

$250 would mean a lot of shares. I say keep it to $500 min with less people involved.

A question I have is if we won $780,000 for our $17,000 outlay would sportingbet or whoever honestly pay us AG? didnt this happen to Curly before?

Id make sure you read the T&C's for the betting agency very very closely, they arent dumb and my bet is they would have a limited payout mechanism, the last couple of times this has happened Ive never seen it confirmed that the agency paid out. If they dont payout you left with a hefty loss.

If you know a lawyer get them involved now, cause you might need them late would be my advice

You will have to be wary I know web sites like Sportingbet on some early NZ races will not let you bet on Unitab only S-TAB or NSW TAB.
