Something to remember for 12 months time

Postby Dutchy » Wed Jan 02, 2008 1:30 pm

Been interesting following the sporting events since Christmas and I have a theory!!!!

Home teams have been rested, most likely with reduced training sessions of the Christmas break, enjoyed themselves and taken a very relaxed attitude into their next game at home, no traveling.....on the other hand you have a traveling team that is away from the comforts of home or has to take it easy on Christmas as they are travelling the next day....they are going away from home as a unit therefore start their preparation for the game mentally much earlier than the home team....examples -

AWAY team in bold

NBL
Sixers beat Dragons
Tigers beat Taipans (but cover the line)
Hawks beat Crocs
Pigs beat Bullets
Tigers beat Wildcats
Kings beat New Zealand (game went to OT, NZ were $8-00 to win the game and covered the 13 points spread)
Blaze Beat Crocs

A-League
Sydney beat Adelaide
Wellington beat Newcastle
Qld beat Perth
Melbourne beat Mariners

Domestic T20
Tassie beat WA
VIC beat Qld
NSW beat SA

So if you take the NBL at the lines and the cricket and soccer just on wins you have a 12-2 record  also noting some of the results were big upsets.....if you had followed this system you would be rolling in the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

on my estimates of the odds if you put $100- on each away team you would be ahead $1300+

thoughts?

The A-League was an abnormal result for sure. First time this season that the away teams have won i.e no draws...

Wether that is a Christmas thing or not, unsure, but can't see it happening again for a while.

I tend to be a little wary of womens sports so I'll just go with the cricket ones today.
