SHAME ON HRV

Postby SCD » Sun Nov 19, 2006 8:26 pm

I got a tip from a very reliable punter today at Charlton and when I looked at it's form - it looked classes above, so took it 1 out in trebles and doubles (my only bet for the day) - spent $100 on them just before the 1st leg of Treble..

the horse didn't arrive on track and was a late scratching some 2 minutes before the race.. poor form HRV stewards.. the horse should have been scratched well before the 1st leg of the treble and it would have saved me some money!!
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

The rule should be if you have a one outer in multiple doubles/trebles/quaddies
that is a late scratching there should be a no sub. rule.
Why should the TAB dictate which horse/dog is the sub.
It is done by putting you on the favourite, which is a consensus opionion, not yours.

There was a situation years ago at the dogs, the owner took a treble
Field/Field/ his dog[that he owned] in the 3rd leg and spent $32 for a 50 cent unit.
His dog was a late scratching he was put on a dog he neither was interested in or
wanted to be on.
He lost the bet, The TAB lost a trebles punter forever, to this day the same punter
has told me he wont bet on trebles ever again.

Earlier this year I had a huge fancy for a pacer Live to Love, I invested about $50
in trebles, it played up before the start, went crazy, and got scratched.
The sub ran 2nd. I lost $50, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN REFUNDED NOT SUBBED.

Maybe a solution would be a new Tab ticket that we can mark SUB yes or SUB no.
BUT THE TAB DONT WONT TO DO THIS BECAUSE NO SUBS MEAN REFUNDS AND
LOSS OF TURNOVER COMMISSIONS.

but if the tab give refunds on trebles wont that make the payout pool smaller and hence smaller divs to the winners in which case you guys are going to have a whinge about that if that happens its a no win situation for the tab

if we were in Supertab or NSW tab it wouldnt be an issue as the pools would still be very large

Not necessarily its winning units into the pool of money invested on the bet.
Imagine having a bet on the Melbourne cup and your horse is scratched and
you get put on the favourite.

same thing

Postby bayman » Wed Nov 22, 2006 5:20 pm

the same thing happened at maryborough on monday a horse called 'normgallagher' was odds on to win its race & played up causing a false start then eventually it was scratched & it was a leg of the treble so if you were unlucky (me) you got shafted twice as i had the field in both legs of both trebles with the 'good thing' one out
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

perhaps a compromise could be that if you win the other two legs and have your stand out scratched you get a refund, but if you dont win the other two legs then it wouldnt matter anyway so no refund

the issue of the topic has gone slightly off track.

Its HRV's fault for not declaring the horse a scratching earlier in the day, I thought horses had to arrive on track by a certain time????

ITs the TABS fault for having 'subs'. I believe if you take a double/treble and have a scratching then you should be refunded on that runner and not put onto any other runners that you probably dont want!!!!!!!!!!!!

your right mt it is 1 hour before their individual race (the same as the gallops)

mt tell me why the dogs all have to be there 1 hour before the first whether they are in the first or the last ? i would think for timid dogs, racing late is a disadvantage

thats a good question BAYMAN and i cant give you an answer at the moment.

timid dogs racing in late races arent a concern, the concern is for dogs like Strathisla Lass who get excited and by the time the later races are due to start a lot of these dogs have run there races in the kennel house.
