Anyone remeber the old match races/shootouts?

I recall a Flying Amy v Tenthill Doll v (can't remember) at Dapto
Flying Amy brained 'em, but Tenthill Doll (imo) became a superior bitch afterwards- at their peaks, I would probably have (only just) Tenthill Doll over Flying Amy- both handy bitches but!

The original format for the Topgun was quick & easy- & more importantly, enjoyable to watch.
Then they brought in qualifications, state reps etc & it went downhill (imo).

A local match race I'd like to see (at their peaks) would be Oak Raider v Top Honcho

african zulu v knocklaun gold
encanto v white panther[but w/panther got scratched]

todays equivalent would be
bettys angel v dyna utah

i think a match race would be a great drawcard these days
