Adelaide Cup

Will be heading over to watch the Cup tonight.

I think Drink Driver is a good show if it can ping and get away from the traffic. If not El Galo and Scull Murphy will be the obvious ones to beat.

Knowing one of the Oval Avenue owners I hope it goes well, but will be in a class of its own,not one good enough to win this race!

PM me if you wish to catch up for a beer tonight. I might get to see how close mal is to his 100kg marker...

Hopefully I can get to the pub in time after footy training, will be good to see El Galo and the Scull go head to head.

Will put a bit in Awesome Ryles again, but won't get to see the race :(

Where's MT with his tips for the night? Must be studying furiously!

well i actually heard the dog show yesterday & i heard p.dammarrells market with el galo 2/5 & scull murphy 2nd pick at 4/1 so i had a crack at the scull fixed odds at 7/1 & intend on backing the favourite if it gets out to about 1/2

interesting to note that scull murphy has had 10 starts from box 7 for 10 wins

ANGLE PARK - thursday night -

1 - box up 1-4-5-6 in all multis

2 - 7 is top pick from 8

4 - 4 best dog in the race

5 - 5 top pick from 2

6 - 1 from 3-4 - box up in multis and use the 1 as the banker

7 - 1-3-5 box up in multis

8 - 1,7

9 - 1 place claims
2 - best dog in australia, should be just winning
3 not in this race
4 needs a clear run - no
5 - can show good muster early will be in firing line for place
6 cant run the time to win, but its no surprise to see the dog make the final as the owners did have high expectations after breaking it in - well done lads and good luck
7 only other winning hope but needs to be right there to have any chance of winning
8 - place claims at odds - may get a nice run across the field if the scull can jump nicely

11 - 4

GOOD LUCK ALL - not overly confident tonight

well a $60.00 profit for the night  but i wish the result was reversed
the fixed odds bet with scull murphy was 420/60 & i had $200.00 on the tab el galo = paid $1.60

invested $260.00
returned $320.00
profit $60.00

i thought scull murphy lost the race when he rolled of the fence nearing & on the home turn (i know that's the way he races) giving the fav a much needed break

i thought j.thompsons comments after the race was slightly controversial (not a good winner)

Was exactly RIGHT what he said but u would've thought he would've been a bit more humble with his words about Skull Murphy.
Basically getting his point across that "Dont crap on about how good S.M. was but tell me how good my dog was, if not i'll tell u myself " which he proceeded to do.
Fair enough, just didn't come across that well to us Sth Aussies.

if they continue to frustrate me by taking my eyes of the form page i,m never going again.
Fat Chance :D :D .

it was a very good cup night with a great cup race.
and yes a typical speech by the vic trainer(s) of the year.
