Great meeting at PP 15/06/07
Look at some of these that are running
R2-4 ELYSSES CREST winner of $100k last start in Melbourne and a ***
R7-6 PERFECT LIGNUM who will be hard to beat in a small field
R8-3 MILITARY the star baby is back, did trial very well.
Im sure the previewers will be keen on these 3 very good pacers

Saturday night GDP 16/06/07
R2-8 ZERRAFOS v R2-10 SOKYOLA what a match race
R9-4 LEND US A SCORE is back and also trialling well

LITTLE DREAMER
----------------

Racing MV friday night, gooooo the champ.

CLAIMING RACES
----------------

THE JUGGERmalNAUT and ANVILS REVIVAL are dominating in these races
There is an expectation that both horses will have 2-3 weeks off claimers
Claiming races have a maximum of $10k on a horse
After June 30 that limit will be raised to $15k
Betterto get $15k yep.

PRIZEMONEY
-------------

Increases after June 30
Well done to the harness people who put through about 70% to prizemoney.
The extra $$$$ will assist

THAT FALL
----------

That fall last week
A supersnooping media rep has informed how horses have to swing a fraction wide
to avoid a peg on the home turn [sprint lane peg ?] hmnnnnnnnnn......
Some people also were calling out to the drivers of the fallen pacers to
get up in the cart and get 4th spot which was worth about $250 approximately !!!!!

JIMMY JAQUES UP THE STAIRS + LATE
-----------------------------------

Confirmed did leave the course for a private matter of importance
As a consequence was late for that race
He was not betting with a bookie as posted.

5RPH
--------

Do a fantastic job with trotting previews
DB, TEE, SCOTTY do a great job
Dont forget the RADIOTHON taking donations for this marvellous Community Radio station
8231-1197
I donated.

Cheers what a weekend in Harness racing
ZERRAFOS V SOKYOLA be there or be square.

basically you put a horse in a claimer & that puts a price on its head

eg the juggernaut $10,000 which means you can buy the horse for $10,000 & if you buy/claim it it is yours after the race, now the barrier draw is drawn on how much the claim is which means the lower the price the better the barrier

thats it in a nutshell & i hope that helps dutchy

Postby mal » Thu Jun 14, 2007 10:53 pm

For example

1 MIGHTY TIGER $1000
2. SCOOB..........$2000
3 ANOTHER GRUB$3000
4 ROOBURGER.....$4000
5 SCD...............$5000
6 G...................$5000
7 PUNK ROOSTER $7000
8 BAYMAN..........$10000
9 MAL...............$10000
10 DUTCHY.........$10000

Thats the field of claimers, you can buy them at those prices
The lesser horses draw the front, the best the back
The JuggerMALnaut is for sale for $10k every week
TJ always draws the back line
8-9-10 are the best horses in the fictitous racefield above and
will draw the backline.

You must put a bid in prior to the race starting
How long before Im not sure

BAYMAN/MAL have thought about buying one for $2k called Royal n Handsome
which was up for $2000 last week
It ran a good 4th
On that run they might put the claiming price up to $3k next week.

port pirie

r1 5,10 on top from 1,2,4 (i think 10 will win as it is down in class & has mals favourite driver aboard)
r2 4 a moral (rated 1/2) from 2 who if driven properly will run 2nd then 6,7,8 with very rough place hopes to 1,5
r3 1,6,10 with next best 3 but do watch market on 2,9 as i do not know them at all
r4 3,8 on top from 2,4,6
r5 8,9 on top from 3,6,7
r6 1,2,6 with next best 7
r7 5,6 to win from all bar 2
r8 3 a moral (rated 1/3) from 4,5,6,7,8,9

suggested bet(s)
r1 no 10 win
r2 no 4 win
r2 exacta 4-2
r8 no 3 win

malfair lay
r7 no 2 i have it at 12/1 if its something like half that it is worth laying as this is a big jump in class

good luck on the punt & more importantly get well soon mal

I've had a couple of claimers along the way - have my only 2 saturday night winning photos up on the wall came from the claimers...

You buy the horse from after the race in run - i.e. you own him once he comes off the track basically - and you don't get the prizemoney for the race in question..
Port Power has 16 years history at Football Park...

The Port Magpies have 40 years history and the two shall never be confused or combined

SCD's thoughts - be very careful who you are claiming horses off....
I personally wouldn't be claiming one off R Holberton at the moment...
The other thing you should do is take a look at the horse before claiming it.. make sure no bowed tendons / major leg issues or problems after a race (i.e. go and look at it after a run - see if there are any issues with it .. i.e. excessive coughing is not usually a good thing, unless you know someone who can treat it... but something like that)
I do have one in the $1 - $3k claimers that I would buy if I could sell my mare.. It went around a couple of weeks ago for $3k and the bloke who has it has no idea, both as a trainer and driver.... that would be the better option then taking one of a bloke who's on a good run at the moment...

EXOTICS 4/2

R6-1 AMBRO VENTURE {$2-80]

As usual with pirie meeting some bad races and horses.

only suggested bet is all up

Super tab all up

Race 2 - Quin 2,4
Race 5 - No.9 Each Way (think will be 2nd fav may get $1.60 place and good chance of winning. No8 been leading getting cheap runs to win.)
Race 6 - Quin 1,2 or no.2 Win or No.1 the place. Take your pick
Race.8 - No. 3 Win (will be short but will add to balance hopefully)

Whatever you win tonight go all up Sat Night
On Sokyola And Lend us a Score

Good luck on the punt.

well G, it is almost a case of have horse & you get a licence almost automatically

i've been mentioning this before, the sooner they get a pool of professional drivers, the sooner the industry will go forward & if i were running the show the people you speak of, they could have a b grade licence & drive at nontab meetings & if they dont like it they dont have to have horses, there is some drivers i just refuse to back & if i think their drive will win or go close i stay out, & i'd bet the turnover would skyrocket if punters thought their bets would not get slaughtered

Your being harsh narrowing your abuse to P Biddell.

What about all the other spastics out their who drive as bad if not worse than one eyed pete.

The leader of the gang has to be Brian Mcbride, this cretin continually holds the front on escapin an absolute cripple. This bloke is an A grade turd who shouldnt be allowed in the parade ring lead alone steering at tab meetings.

Dont forget John Phillips an impersonator of the bush tucker man and chairman of the Cow racing club.

Or Michael Dennis who has lengths on those 3 roosters but lets not forget this idiot has saluted when hes been beaten and is also a fan of the mcbride tactics of holding a spot when you are on a cripple.

and finally tonights a possible spastics of the future is making his debut ? or maybe re appearance.

Waylon Hornhardt - Never heard of this bloke but their isn't a Hornhardt that can steer and i can only assume he will live up to all the inbred buck tooth country feral race destroyer images the name conjures up.
