just watched Shatters in race 5-6 at randwick

desperately unlucky in the straight, went for a run between horses and got checked out and then went back to the inside to run into second

with a clear run surely it wins

Magnificent ride by Brad Rawiller also. Watching it on replay from above makes you appreciate just how good a ride it was, waiting for the gaps and surging away. Interesting last 200m with the whip though.

Viewed now into $6 equal favorite for the Melbourne Cup with Efficient. Not sure how long its been since the previous two cup winners would be sharing favoritism in betting, given Makybe Diva's three in a row making it hard.

Daffodil looked one of the runs of the race. Worked home stylishly into 4th, looked like Flemington's roomier straight will help her cause. Vigor another one that battled on tenaciously after running on the pace throughout. While beaten a little way, there was something to like about Red Lord's run. Was in the steward's report a couple of times and loomed up on the turn after a difficult run. At $151 for the Cup, might be one for multiples if it gets a start, if ridden more patiently.

Kirkless and Cima De Triomphe's runs looked ordinary on paper, but think the former will benefit more from the run than the latter.
