Small idea.

Lets think about this. The internet TAB punter uses DFS. The pub/tab punter has last 3 starts. These two types should make up the majority of the investee's in a pool. Of course you have the on-track punters, then the trainers, owners, form students, professionals/syndicates and misc punters.

If we target the basic investors into the pools. The online TAB/pub punter. Then we limit ourselves to their basic information.


Form a market on the basis of their information. Keep a keen eye out for runners that run at HUGE unders when comparing to our market.

Why?

There has to be other factors influencing the pool for these massive Unders. Whether it be the connections, on-track news or a big punter investing. It should show up. These are the runners to look out for and to see how often they fill the placings.


With this in mind. I will look at Angle Park Race 1 on the DFS form and try and think like the ONLINE punter.

The basics:

DFS Ratings = 6-3-1-2
TIP from caller = will have to wait for them to upload the information on DFS.

So I am scrolling down. The tracks that I know are Gawler/Angle Park for SA.

#1 ...it has Box 1 for a start. Finished second last start. 5/13 placings.
#2 ....finished last at a track I don't know.... who is this runner?
#3 ....second on debut, must go alright. Track don't know.
#4 ....Box 4....12 starts nah.....
#5 ...This is the one that I like at odds. Says checked and has been well backed lately. And I know the trainer.
#6....This one will win. Look at the 30.60 Angle run.
#7 ....Who??
#8 .... Has Victorian form. Box 8. Sure i'll box it in exotics.

My mind jumps all over the place as to who will fill the placings. But I know which dogs I don't like.

6 should win this.

yeah..... I'll just stand it out a few times in exotics and put my roughie #5 in everything.

^^^ I'm assuming that is the train of thought when you look at the TAB odds screen. I can roughly predict what the market will be.

The key to this race is the pace out-wide. 6,7 are hit/miss at the start. #8 is fairly consistent and gets the best box to begin. Will need to cross to the rail and have #1 Holstein Miss (Who can ping the lids..... but misses a lot too) underneath. Will be interesting to see what happens up the back straight. If #3 has room, except to run on nicely.

With the speed out-wide and insides slow/missing it gives #4 a beautiful run in the race. Yes bad box for this T/D. But in terms of suitability, is much more suited than better dogs.

Distance race here with early speed to the first corner coming from 2,4,5. #2 is the inexperienced runner so form is likely to jump all over the place. #4,5 are easier to predict due to consistencies.
