Star hoops Jamie Kah and Ben Melham are set to miss the spring carnival after stewards handed them hefty suspensions for breaking COVID-19 rules.

Racing.com understands the duo, as well as jockeys Celeine Gaudray and Ethan Brown, were outed for three months after they attended an illegal gathering after 9pm at an Airbnb on the Mornington Peninsula on Wednesday night.

Racing.com revealed on Friday the quartet were caught when police attended the property following noise s complaint. Victoria Police confirmed they were also fined more than $5000 each for breaking the state’s lockdown.

In a behind-closed-doors hearing, all four jockeys pleaded guilty to breaking AR 232(b) - fail or refuse to comply with an order, direction or requirement of the Stewards or an official.

The suspension begins at midnight on August 26 and will expire at midnight on November 25.

The jockeys were also issued with a stand down order, which from today, means they cannot attend all licensed premises for 14 days and that negative COVID-19 tests must be provided over that period.

They will, however, be able to participate in trackwork, jump-outs and official trials once the 14 day period ends on September 9.

Speaking at Friday morning’s COVID-19 press conference, Health Minister Martin Foley said he was “bitterly disappointed” in the actions of the jockeys

Anyone else’s TAB App not showing or allowing access to any of tomorrow’s Aus races?

Not just the app, the on pub displays aren't either. Sportsbet is fine.
We've had to tell the TAB a few times over the last few months about things they're missing off apps or in house displays, they normally get stuff added pretty quick but it shouldn't be up to pubs telling them they're missing stuff, they seriously are hopeless.

Spoken to a client who has connections inside the O'Connor yard.
Apparently Morphettville r1- 6 - is an over the line job. He will be staying out as it's too short for him.
Just tuned into GetOn SA as I do most weeks before the trot show starts in WA. All 4 on the panel tipped it as well so fair to say its gonna get crunched.
I might trail in the quaddie for an interest.
An astute analyst got it down to 3 legs in the last and maybe 2 if there's a scratching so can really get a good % of it.
