I Have Recently Come across this site and have been reading through the topics

Do any of you blokes realise why the prices which are put in the paper markets are so attractive?
I'll tell you why
1 - If they went through the races and put in more realistic prices e.g $1.30 about horses rather than $2.50 which they currently put in it turns people away from betting. People see in paper that half the races at the trots and dogs have $1.50 or shorter priced animals in them it turns people off of betting in them. which means the person making the markets for the papers gets told "Aviod whenever possible putting in odds on Fav's".
2 - the person coming up with the market probably gets paid bout $40 if that for doing it.
Would any of yous want to spend hours and hours doing markets for bugger all? When your NOT Accountable or not liable for the prices would you be that worried about them? Get paid the same whether you spot on or not!!!

so the bottom line is the industries won't the prices to be attractive!!
Which means you should be able to win a million off of the paper prices.

If you blokes on here a such good judges/punters come up with a 100% market and give the punt a go full time with real money!!
But i tipping yous should only take a few days off of work, don't quit your jobs (if you have one) cos you may struggle to find new one!!!

I NEVER said NO one would be making a profit or wins from the punt!!
My point was paper prices are like they are for a reason
And winning off the punt dutchy is different to punting for a living!!! With NO other regular income!!!

but by putting incorrect odds in they are also increasing the variability of the result for the casual punter. if i didnt bet regulary and saw something i liked listed at $3 and put $5 on it, i would be expecting $15 return, when the true price is about $1.40 and the punter then only gets a $7 return they are going to become just as dispirited and less likely to punt againa sthey will perceive there to be no value in it

Current balance $66,753

ATTRACTIVE???? I think not. I would think that the majority of runners start at a longer price than quoted in the paper, therefore making the paper odds UNattractive.
The whole idea of the $1,000,000 challenge is to see who has the best eye for value using paper odds. Its just a game, a bit of fun, nothing more.
