Greyhound trainer Terry Darragh has been found guilty of aniMAL cruelty.
Darragh fled the scene of an accident on his way home form a meeting at Wentworth Park in January, leaving his $10000 greyhound Go Bronco in the back of the station wagon.
Darragh falsely reported the car missing the next day and Go Bronco was found dead from organ failure 2 days later.
Darragh claimed a mental illness had led to his actions, but the magistrate said the charges were too serious to be dismissed.
Darragh will be sentenced in July.

The only defence for Terry is that it does not appear to be a pre-meditated occurence
He pranged his car, possibly in panic or whatever then concocted his disMAL plan.
Sometimes in life we put ourselves into corners + situations and this appears to have happened.

However
His irresponsible actions have led to the death of his dog and he needs to recompence his doings.

VERDICT
Guilty
