I've not really played Tilt mate, can you tell me why you think it's better than Stars (legitimate question, not having a go)

Mickey don't think theres any real prob there, was all sorted out and Still operating as a bookie. I'm sure its the yearly balance that counts not a one off. I knoe he spends many weekends over at crown playing, along as goin to tournaments in Vegas and Macau.

More to the point who won the battle??????????

Full tilt has better layout, playing options, promotions etc etc and i seem to win far more on FT than Poker stars. It feels more "real" but seriously i think the 2 sites are poles apart.

Full Tilt = A.F.L

Poker Stars = country footy

Anyone looking to sign up to Full Tilt just follow the link in my sig ;)

Full Tilt have a good deposit bonus at the moment where you get a 100% reload, takes a while to clear though depending on the levels that you want to play. Also depending on the limits played, it might be worth while looking at a rakeback deal of some sort.

Centreman, there was a heap from Crown over for the series, would be great to get over there for a weekend to play in a poker room that has more poker tables than SkyCity has tables of all sorts combined. And I lasted a lot longer than Mr. Seal 8)

RE stars vs tilt
All depends on what sort of game you are looking for, Stars has a wider spread of micro limit tables. Both cash games and SnG's. Tilt has some bette promos regarding FPP ( Frequent Player Points). In the end it all comes down to personal choice on the site that you find that you like, but sites like Pacific and 888 are well known to have 'softer' cash games, but usually are in Euros

Finished top 7 of a field of 80 starters.

Been listed to play on Thursday so by then there will already be a fair % of starters already eliminated on Wednesday b4 i even toss in my 1st chip. :D

Well done DODDY on winning his ticket into the big one as well. ;)

I tend to agree westsider, the start tourny lobby is much much better IMO, where on tilt the spread of tournys i think is better with more bounty tournys etc.

At the end of the day it just comes down to personal preference like most things in life.

If stars is country footy is hate to think what some of the european sites are classed as... maybe the AFL in the USA maybe ;)

Got Eliminated after about 8 1/2 hrs play. :( Great experience playing against some top pros and wasn't as intimidating as i thought it would be. Finished about mid field from a total of 218 starters.

What do you usually play online dutchy?? Cash or tourny's?

If you havent already, it would pay to get your hands on a few books with different stratergies and ways of playing, can be a great help to start winning and playing better.

ha i know the feeling about the cash games. Made just over 100 in half an hour during the week, then didnt see a hand worth playing for the next 2 days and when i did always got rivered or just had a brain explosion and played terribly.

On Stars, they are running a comp where you add up points from blocks of 20 SnG's and the weekly leaders share in cash, might be worth looking at if you run pretty good with the SnG.

You're probably past this stage now, but I'd think Harringtons Vol 1 & 2 are the best place for anyone to start, from there you just read different pro's books and appreciate their styles as you refine your own (thats my take on it anyway).

I've got the two above (+ a Slansky, Full Tilt and Helmuth's Tells) so Im happy to get them to you if you want.

I have a couple by Phil Hellmuth and 1 by Mike Sexton. The 1 i am reading ATM is Lets Play Poker by Lee Nelson. They are all pretty good and varied with their thoughts on the way to play poker. The Lee Nelson 1 is mainly based on SnG poker and his way of beating them, all the way from freeplay to $100 single table SnG.
