ballarat

Gold Nugget race 6

4 is my main selection, think there is some value at the $8.00 fixed
1 - is another who is worth a small ew bet at $16

2,3 are the favs, and do look the ones to hold out

ill be going 4 ew, 1 smaller ew

boxing up 1,2,3,4 and then 2,3,4 and then anchoring the 4/2,3 and 4/1,2,3

result 3-4-8-1

i thought there was a chance the 4 could just hang on, but it gave me a good sight. still some nice exotics and the ew bet

Apache Cat @ $3.60 on fixed odds looks great value at Caulfield race 4.
Only danger would be Paprika because of lighter weight (7.5kg)

Also like Gibraltor Moon in race 3 E/W.
Saw it's last run (I know race 1 on a Sunday 2 weks ago) but looks prime for another win but up against Avenue.

Also, what does everyone think of Alcopop's chances today?

Nothing to do with upcoming races, but thought I'd tell you about my missus picking up the $11,000.00 trifecta in Adelaide on Saturday. She was pumped.

Na, all her own. She sits up every Friday night till all hours with the Best Bets and Winning Post and studies them all. She is a good punter. Mind you, she was a bit lucky to get that one on Saturday.

Maldivian's spring campaign overArticle from: Font size: Decrease Increase Email article: Email Print article: Print Submit comment: Submit comment MATT STEWART
October 13, 2009 12:21pm
STAR Galloper Maldivian's Spring Carnival is finished after breaking down this morning .

Last year’s Cox Plate winner pulled up with a tear in a tendon after trackwork this morning and trainer Mark Kavanagh announced immediately that Maldivian’s spring was over.

Maldivian was regarded as a leading chance in both the Caulfield Cup and the Cox Plate on Saturday week.

"Maldivian worked well on grass this morning but on cooling down was found with heat in his near side front tendon," Kavanagh said in a statement.

"It has been discovered he has a tear of 12.5 per cent and he's out for the Spring Carnival.

"He will be assessed thereafter."

Maldivian seems cursed by the Caulfield Cup as he was a sensational late scratching when favourite in 2007 after smashing his head on the barrier stalls.

It was woeful morning at the track on two fronts for Kavanagh, whose top class filly Pats Whisker, also injured herself and will miss the rest of the sping
